Growing in Prayer Together
A LIFE Group Prayer Experience
2. Praying for my LIFE Group
In a group of two (same gender), use the prayer-prompters below to begin praying, but continue as the Holy Spirit leads you. When you are finished, wait for your leader to end this time in prayer.
Pray together for your brothers and sisters in Christ in your LIFE Group, by name:
Pray for your LG leader(s)/co-leader:
Pray for one another:
“May the Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who has given us eternal encouragement and a reason to hope, encourage your heart and strengthen you in every good deed and word. May the Lord direct your heart into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”
(from 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17; 3:5)
Pray together for your brothers and sisters in Christ in your LIFE Group, by name:
- Ask God to pour out the Holy Spirit on those in your LG and give to each one, wisdom and revelation so that we may know Him better. Ask God for each one for a greater understanding of His Word and desire to walk in His ways.
- Pray for LG members by name who might not be there at your gathering or haven’t been to the group for awhile. Pray for those connected to your group who do not yet know Jesus.
Pray for your LG leader(s)/co-leader:
- Pray for your LG leader(s). Ask God to fill them to overflowing with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Pray that they will increasingly be men/women of the Word and of the Spirit.
- Pray that they will have wisdom as they lead and that they will be strengthened with joy in the Holy Spirit. (continue praying as led by the Holy Spirit….)
Pray for one another:
- Briefly share with one another a burden that you are carrying.
- Bring each other’s requests before the Father and intercede for one another.
- Pray for one another that God will strengthen your sister/brother by the Holy Spirit, to persevere through their present trial with joy.
- Take turns praying this prayer based on God’s Word over each other when you are finished:
“May the Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who has given us eternal encouragement and a reason to hope, encourage your heart and strengthen you in every good deed and word. May the Lord direct your heart into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”
(from 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17; 3:5)
