WEDNESDAY Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you.
As you pray, mention by name those from ECB who the Holy Spirit brings to mind.
Father, it is written that we, as Your people, should “throw off everything that hinders us, and the sin that entangles us” so that we can run the race of faith. May we be increasingly radical about holiness and hold onto nothing that keeps us from following Jesus with all of our hearts (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Father, I pray for the men of our congregation and ask that they will be godly in their conduct and careful to guard their eyes, hearts and minds. May they be alert and aware of the entrapments of the evil one (1 Peter 5:8).
Father, I ask that my brothers and sisters will trust in You at all times, for all things and take refuge in You alone. May we always pour out our hearts to You, that we might sing in the shadow of Your presence (Psalm 62:8;
63:7-8)!
Father, may we be faithful in declaring Your greatness and power to the next generation. Forgive us for being silent or intimidated. Open our mouths that we might always recount Your goodness (Psalm 71:17-18; 78:4-6)!
