Prayer Guide 22 March 2020

Sunday

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Father, I give thanks to You, for You always lead me victoriously in Christ! But Father, I confess that I do not always follow in this way. Instead of walking in the light of the victory that is mine, I often hide in the shadows.

Help me, I pray, to not lose heart, even though outwardly I am wasting away and the darkness seems great. By the presence and power of Your Spirit in me, renew me inwardly day by day.

Remind me continuously that the light and momentary troubles that I face are achieving for me an eternal glory that far outweighs the trials I encounter. That You, Lord Jesus, who lives in me, is greater than the evil one (Pause and commit the hardships that you are facing to Jesus and proclaim the victory of the cross in each circumstance).
This day, this moment, may I walk in the victory of the cross, and may my identity be found in You alone. May I be teachable in the wilderness of my living I pray, and may springs of living water come forth in every dry place of my walk with You.

Thank You, that through Christ Jesus Who loved me, and gave Himself for me, I am more than a conqueror. Help me to remember that the battles that I face in life are not mine, but Yours, that those who do not yet know You have only the arm of flesh as their strength, but You, Father God, are with me to help me and to fight on my behalf!

So, I ask that You make me strong. Help me to be courageous. Keep me from being terrified or discouraged, but remind me that You are with me wherever I go, in every decision that is before me, in every temptation that I face. Thank You Father, that I share in the victory of Christ, that You have given to me the fullness of Christ, because I am in Him!

Strengthen me by Your Spirit, Father, to be on my guard, to stand firm in my faith, to be a person of courage and strength and do everything in love, that I might not be burdened again by any yoke of sin but walk in victory. May the only shadow in which I abide, be the shadow of the cross.

I ask these things in the Name of Jesus, my Triumphant Saviour. Amen.

Monday

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
Pray for ministers of the Gospel around the world, that in all Lenten celebrations, Jesus will receive the glory due His Name. Pray that the many evangelistic events taking place during this Easter season through the Jesus film, dramas, musicals and other outreach ministries, will produce lasting spiritual fruit in every nation, and that many will come to know Christ. Ask God to pour out His Spirit on His Church in the country that you are from. Pray that the message of the cross – salvation through Jesus only, will be preached with boldness, ushering in a great harvest.

Father, I pray that those who are ministering in LIFE Groups, Oasis Women’s Ministry, Adult Discipleship, Exchange Student’s Ministry, CrossTown Children’s Ministry and Adelphoi Men’s Ministry would be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy and establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17)!

Tuesday

Lord, give us Your dreams – ‘God-sized’ dreams for the ministries that you wish to accomplish through us. Forgive our lack of faith, and embolden us to be risk-takers for the sake of Your kingdom (Hebrews 11:1, 6)!

Keep us from turning away from You, Father. May we be steadfast in our pilgrimage with You (Pray for those who are struggling in their faith journey).

May we be strengthened to choose the better way of intimate fellowship with You (Luke 10:41-42).  May our eyes be fixed on Jesus only.

Father, You have said that the sacrifices that You are looking for are a broken spirit and contrite heart. May these be found among us (Psalm 51:16-17).

Wednesday

ECB Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you. To receive a weekly Prayer and Fasting e-mail, please contact [email protected]
Father, may our hearts remain steadfast, worshiping You, regardless of the news we hear, or the situations that we face. May we always praise You and remember Your great love for us! (Psalm 108:1-4) (Pause and pray for those you know by name, who are encountering difficulties…)

May we as Your people stand firm and let nothing move us.  May we always give ourselves fully to Your work.  Encourage us and remind us, that our labour for You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) and increase our compassion for the lost!  May many rise up and join in the ministries of ECB and the harvest field.

May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal.  Increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25). Smash the idols in our lives that we might love You only.

Thursday

I pray for our children and young people, Father, and ask You to strengthen them to stand firm in their faith and make a difference for Your kingdom. Protect them from the evil one (John 17:15) and may they follow You all the days of their lives.

Father, I pray for pre-Christian friends, co-workers, family members, who are connected to the ECB community of faith – Lord Jesus, may their longing for You increase and make us ready to give the reason for the hope that we have in You (1 Peter 3:15)! (Pray for the pre-Christian people in your life by name…)

Ask God to open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessing on Christian organizations ministering in the nation of Thailand.

Friday

Open the eyes of our hearts and reveal the hidden things, for You have said that You desire truth in our inmost parts. Show us Lord, show me, where I am still withholding my heart from You (John 4:23-24; Ephesians 1:18; Job 28:11; Psalm 51:6).

Father, protect us from the love of money. May we be increasingly content with what we have knowing that You will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5-6).

I give thanks to You, O Lord, for You are good – Your love endures forever (Psalm 118:1-3)!  (Pause and give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and provision in Your life.)

You have said, Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!

Saturday

Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather, change us and wash us by Your Word! Keep us from just listening to Your Word, may we be those who do what it says (Psalm 51:15; Ephesians 5:26; James 1:22)!

Father, You know the needs that are represented in our fellowship. There is relational brokenness among us, Lord, spiritual dryness, unconfessed sin, physical weakness, emotional distress. O God, have mercy on us, heal Your people. (Pray for those you know of by name…)

Father, I ask that those who come to ECB seeking answers about who You are and what it means to follow Jesus, will be drawn by the Holy Spirit to salvation. May each of us extend the welcome of Jesus to those around us and may Jesus be so seen among us, that many will come to faith in Him. May there be salvation in Your house each week!

As we gather tomorrow, minister to us by the Holy Spirit. Heal us O Lord! Speak powerfully through Pastor David, and may we as Your people have ears to hear what Your Spirit would say to us.
