Prayer Guide 29 March 2020

Sunday

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Father, how I thank You that through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death! Thank You, Jesus, for willingly becoming my sin-offering on the cross, so that all the requirements of the law might be fully met. And now Lord, knowing that I am Yours and that the Holy Spirit lives in me, may my mind be set on what the Spirit desires.

I ask that in Jesus’ name, You break all residual strongholds of my sinful nature, that my mind be controlled by the Holy Spirit and produce life and peace in me. I choose this day, to put to death the misdeeds of my body, that
I might truly live! Remove from my heart the love of this world, and pry my hands off of the non-eternal things that I still cling to. Empower me to live as Your child (Pause and pray through all the Holy Spirit brings to mind…).

May I stand firm in my faith in You. Give me, I pray, a holy determination to live in the freedom that Christ has provided for me by His finished work on the cross, and not live under the weight of sin. Strengthen me to walk away from temptation, to say ‘no’ to ungodly conduct, conversation, thoughts and choices. Truly my sin is great, but Your grace is greater still and You have given me Your robe and ring and have invited me to feast at Your table! Forgive me Father, for the ways that I think, speak or live, that are as if I am a slave in Your house, instead of Your child! Forgive me for living in the shadows (Pause and consider what you have prayed…).

Empower me, this day, by Your Spirit that is at work in me, to live boldly in the freedom that You have provided for me in Christ – forgetting what is behind, and pressing on, taking hold of Jesus!

Words are inadequate at best to express my thankfulness for Your great sacrifice on the cross, Lord Jesus, for destroying the curse of sin and setting me free! Thank You for this glorious freedom! Strengthen me to come away from all fear, regret and shame in the way I live, and walk in Your great light.

I proclaim that today, I choose righteousness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Monday

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
May we as Your people, praise You O God. May all of us praise You, that the land in which we live might yield its harvest and we might experience Your great blessing (Psalm 67:5-6).

I will praise You O Lord, and not forget all that You have done. (Pause and remember the goodness of the Lord in your life and in our faith community…)

I praise You for forgiving my sins and healing me! (Pause and give thanks for the salvation that is yours through Christ. Pray for those who have yet to call on His name…)

Tuesday

I praise You Lord, for Your many blessings, for satisfying my desires with good things and renewing my strength (Psalm 103).

Pray for ministers of the Gospel around the world, that in all Lenten celebrations, Jesus will receive the glory due His Name. Pray that the many evangelistic events taking place during this Easter season through the Jesus film, dramas, musicals and other outreach ministries, will produce lasting spiritual fruit in every nation, and that many will come to know Christ. Pray especially for Thai pastors, that they will experience revival visitations of the Holy Spirit and preach the Word with power.

Wednesday

ECB Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you. To receive a weekly Prayer and Fasting e-mail, please contact [email protected]
Lord Jesus, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be poured out on us in even greater measure, that there would be no lack in the ministries of ECB. May all who serve do so with great joy, using what we have received from You to serve others (Pray for those you know of by name who are serving in different areas at ECB that they will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit) (1 Peter 4:10).

Father, I ask that as a community of faith, we will be found worthy of Your calling on our lives and empowered to fulfil every good purpose and every act prompted by faith. May this be accomplished among us so that the Lord Jesus may be glorified in us (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12). Increase our faith, Lord!

I pray Father, for those who are leading LIFE Groups and ask that You anoint them with the Holy Spirit, that they might serve with Christlikeness. Build us into a true community of faith! May Your Holy Spirit be poured out on each gathering!

Grow us in prayer, Lord, as we gather for online House of Prayer this evening.  Teach us to pray!

Thursday

Lord Jesus, be exalted among us as we gather and worship, as we meet in homes, at work, school and play. Be exalted, be glorified in our conversations, in the choices that we make, and the places we go. Whether we eat or drink or whatever it is that we might do. May we always be mindful that we belong to You, and do all things for You (1 Corinthians 10:31)!

Jesus, You said that we are to make disciples of all nations – show us this way! Surely You have put us here in Bangkok at this point in time for Your plans and purposes – may we, as Your people, enter in with joy to all that You have for us. Increase the harvest among us! May many come to Jesus! And yes Lord, give us the nations (Matthew 28:19)!

Friday

Lord Jesus, teach us to follow Your example and serve one another. May we prefer one another out of love for You and serve one another with joy (John 13:1-5; Philippians 2:1-11)!

Father, I ask that those who come to ECB seeking answers about who You are and what it means to follow Jesus, will be drawn by the Holy Spirit to salvation. May each of us extend the welcome of Jesus to those around us, and may Jesus be so seen among us, that many will come to faith in Him. May there be salvation in Your house each week!

Thank You Father, for buying my life back from the pit, for redeeming me through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and giving my Your love and compassion as a crown (Pause and remember all that You have been saved from, and all that you have been saved to and give thanks)!

Saturday

Father, I pray for those among the ECB community who are new in their faith journey with You – increase their faith, Father. May they be built up, edified and encouraged. For those among us who are still seeking, and have yet to call on Your name, reveal Yourself to them Lord, draw them by Your Spirit. Add to our fellowship daily those who are being saved (John 6:44; Acts 2:47)!  May their be salvation in Your house this Sunday!

How thankful I am for the privilege of worshiping with brothers and sisters from many lands. May we increasingly put aside cultural preferences, I pray. Unite us under the banner and cross of Christ and Your Word be our one true standard! And Father, allow us the privilege of sowing into the nations represented among us!

May we enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise tomorrow, may we be thankful for all that You have done for us and bless Your name – for You are good O Lord and greatly to be praised (Psalm 100)!
