Prayer Guide 04 October 2020

Sunday

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Father, I ask that You would help me to be obedient and to be ready to do whatever is good, that I might be part of blessing the nation of Thailand. May I not be rebellious in word or action but instead may I submit myself for Your sake, to every authority instituted among men.

Guard my mouth and keep me from speaking ill of those who rule over me. Remind me by the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life, that there is no authority except that which You have established. Help me to submit willingly, as if I am submitting to You. Guard my heart from rebellion. May I show proper respect to everyone, and honour those who rule over me.

I lift up to You, those who govern the nation of Thailand. May they rule with wisdom which is from You, and may their hearts be drawn to Yours. Father, keep me from losing heart or being afraid when I hear rumours in the land of unrest. Instead, may I be reminded to pray and interceded for those in authority, for this pleases You and is good.

May I become one who watches on the wall for the nation, crying out to You. Forgive my hopelessness, for You are the God of all hope and those whose hope is in You will not be disappointed. I choose to put my trust in You.

I know that it is Your desire, that Your people be salt and light and the aroma of Christ – that I be salt and light and the aroma of Christ, that the world may know You. Strengthen us by Your Spirit, I pray. Strengthen me. Change me I pray, until my agenda is put to death, and my heart given over to You completely.

Revive Your Church in this land – may each and every one of my brothers and sisters be revived and refreshed by Your Holy Spirit, that Jesus might truly be exalted and His name be great! May it be so O Lord, for the sake of the harvest that is yet to come!

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Monday

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
Father God, capture our hearts again with the mystery and greatness of the work of Christ on the cross for our sins. May ‘first love passion’ for Jesus be restored in our fellowship – Revive us, I pray (Psalm 85:6)!

Ask God to cut-off all human trafficking inroads into Bangkok. Pray that the plans of the wicked will not prosper but be thrown into confusion. Ask God to strengthen and empower those who minister to victims of human trafficking. Pray that the light and the glory of Jesus will be seen.

Keep us from leaning on our own wisdom, but may we continually acknowledge You in all that we do. May we be found worthy of You and please You in every way and bear spiritual fruit in every good work. Strengthen us with power according to Your glorious might so that endurance and patience will increase (Colossians 1:9-11; Proverbs 3:5-6).

Tuesday

I ask. Father, that all unwholesome talk, slander and gossip be put to death among us and that we would increasingly edify, bless and build one another up. May all bitterness and anger be destroyed in Jesus’ name, and kindness and compassion released among us (Ephesians 4:29-32).

Pray for your neighbourhood and the street that you live on by name. Ask that the light and glory of Jesus will be revealed through you.

Father, I ask that You use Oasis Women’s Ministry to strengthen the faith of many and draw those who do not yet know You, to Jesus. Anoint those who teach, and may the love of Jesus be evident to all who come!

Wednesday

ECB Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you. To receive a weekly Prayer and Fasting e-mail, please contact [email protected]
Strengthen us, by Your Spirit, to throw off everything that is hindering us – every sin that is entangling us. May our eyes be fixed on You Lord Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Father, I pray for those among our community of faith who are experiencing trials of many kinds. Strengthen them, I pray, to persevere and stand firm. As they wait on You Lord, give them signs of Your goodness to encourage them. Provide for the needs of Your people, O God, and strengthen us as we wait on You (Pray for those at ECB who are going through difficult trials).

I ask, Father, for fresh outpourings of the Holy Spirit on us as we gather this evening for House of Prayer. Teach us to pray, Father!

Father, it is written that friendship with the world is hatred towards You (James 4:4).  Teach us, by Your Spirit, the balance of living in the world, but not belonging to the world (John 15:19) (Pause and pray for those you know of by name from ECB, that they will have hearts that long for Jesus above all else).

Thursday

Increase our faith, Father! May we, as Your people, be increasingly sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see, for You have said that without faith it is impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:1, 6).

I pray for my brothers and sisters who are trapped in their minds by the pain of hurtful memories. I pray for healing in Jesus’ name, and ask that their minds would be renewed, and their living transformed (Isaiah 61:1; Romans 12:1-2).

Father, I praise and thank You for the way that You are growing us as a community of faith. May we be increasingly unified by Your Spirit and grow in our love for one another. Empower and strengthen those who are leading our LIFE Groups – may each group be knit together by Your Spirit.

Friday

Pray that as a community of faith, we will be found worthy of God’s calling on our individual lives and our corporate body and be empowered to fulfil every good purpose and every act prompted by faith. Pray that this will be accomplished so that the Lord Jesus may be glorified in us (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).

We wait in hope for You, O Lord, for You alone are our help and our shield, it’s in You that our hearts truly rejoice! We trust in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon the people of ECB Father, even as we put our hope in You (Psalm 33:20-22).

You have said Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask!  Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!

Saturday

Ask God to pour out His Spirit on the Church of your home country. Pray that the Holy Spirit will revive the hearts of pastors and that His Word will go forth in power. Pray for a great spiritual harvest!

How thankful I am for the privilege of worshiping with brothers and sisters from many lands. May we increasingly put aside cultural preferences and be unified by the Spirit. May Your Word be our one true standard!

Father God, I pray for our pastors, elders and deacons, that as they lead us, they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven, that is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” (James 3:17).  Strengthen them to serve with joy (James 3:17).

Father, I ask that You build this house called ECB – we do not want to labour in vain! In Your good pleasure, make ECB prosper. May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).
