Prayer Guide 23 January 2022
Sunday
Before you begin, pray and ask for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit that you might be strengthened to stand for Christ in the world.
Father, how thankful I am for the sacrifice of Jesus, which made me perfect forever as I am being made holy! Thank You Father that You have sanctified me in Christ Jesus and called me to be holy. You have admonished me in Your Word, that I am to be holy as You are holy. Father, I confess my weakness to You, that my sinful nature desires what is contrary to Your Spirit, and that I often do not do what I know is best (Be still before the Lord, and confess those things that the Holy Spirit brings to mind).
In Jesus’ name, forgive me Father. Empower me by the Holy Spirit, to live a holy and godly life as I look forward to the day that Jesus will return, for Your divine power has given me everything that I need, for life and godliness and I confess my dependence on You alone (Pause and recommit yourself to live dependent on Jesus. Invite Him into areas of your life that are not connected to Him).
Teach me, I pray to say ‘no’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live a self-controlled, upright and godly life in this world. For I know that godliness with contentment is great gain, that it has value for all things and holds promise and blessing for both this life and the life to come (Pause and confess areas of your life where you are discontent. Pray through these things, committing them to God).
Your Word tells me that it is Your will that I should be holy, and I choose to submit to Your will for me. Help me then to stand firm, resisting the devil. By the Holy Spirit, guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus and preserve me as a vessel of honour, for noble purposes. May my heart truly delight in doing Your will that as I become more and more like Jesus, I might be strengthened with great joy!
All this I pray in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.

Monday
Father, You have said that friendship with the world is hatred towards You (James 4:4). Teach us by Your Spirit, the balance of living in the world, but not belonging to the world (John 15:19). Keep our hearts from the love of the things of this world (1 John 2:15) (Pause and pray for those you know of by name from ECB, that they will have hearts that long for Jesus above all else).
Revive our hearts with fresh out-pourings of Your Holy Spirit, until we long to do Your will! Destroy every work of the evil one yet evident in us and make us holy.

Tuesday
Father, I pray for those among our community of faith who are experiencing trials of many kinds. Strengthen them to persevere and stand firm. As they wait on You Lord, give them, I pray, signs of Your goodness to encourage them. Provide for the needs of Your people, O God, and strengthen us as we wait on You (Pray for those at ECB who are going through difficult trials).
How thankful I am for the privilege of worshiping with brothers and sisters from many lands. May we increasingly put aside cultural preferences and be unified by the Spirit. May Your Word be our one true standard!

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, I praise Your holy name, and I confess that the kingdom and the power and the glory are Yours alone! The earth is Yours and all who live in it! – You are the One True God, creator of all things, and I will worship no other. May You alone be worshiped and adored by Your people (2 Chronicles 29:10-13 Isaiah 40:28; Psalm 24:1)!
Surround us with Your favour Lord, and establish the work of our hands for the sake of Your kingdom (Psalm 5:12; 90:17) (Pause and pray for Crosstown Children’s Ministry, EXCHANGE Youth Ministry, Discipleship Ministry. Pray for LIFE Groups, Oasis Women’s Ministry, Adelphoi Men’s Ministry, Care Team Ministry, Prayer Ministry – ask God for spiritual fruit. Pray for those you know by name from ECB who are serving in these areas. Ask God to pour out the Holy Spirit on them and give them ‘kingdom impact’ in their sphere of influence).
I ask that You increase our hunger and thirst for righteousness, for holiness. May we long for You, more than our next meal or earthly pleasure. Strengthen us to press in deeper in prayer that we might become those who tear down strongholds and everything that sets itself up against You, Lord Jesus (Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5)!

Thursday
I ask Father, that all unwholesome talk be put to death among us, and that we would increasingly bless one another. May our relationships be marked by love and forgiveness (Ephesians 4:29-32)!
I pray for my brothers and sisters who are struggling with unforgiveness and ask that they be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to submit to You, so that they are able to resist the evil one (James 4:7). May we increasingly forgive others as we’ve been forgiven!
Father, I lift up our pastors to you, and I pray that their zeal for You will increase. Accomplish in them and through them, all that You have called them to do. May they not lean on their own understanding, but increasingly acknowledge You in all their ways. Make their path straight before them, I pray (Romans 12:11; I Thessalonians 5:24; Proverbs 3:5-6).

Friday
Keep us from complaining Father, but instead, may we become a people who learn the discipline of giving thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for us (1 Thessalonians 5:18). May praise and thanksgiving overwhelm us (Pause and thank God for all that you see Him doing among our community of faith)!
Father, may we as Your people, be those who are willing to go out into ‘deeper water’ with You. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask for myself Lord, keep us from standing on the shore and passively listening and watching. May we enter into the life of the Spirit and the work of Your kingdom (Luke 5:1-11)!
Father, I thank You that You are faithful, and You will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but will provide a way out. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB, those who are being tempted to turn from You and give into sin, strengthen them to stand firm! Make us to be strong in You and Your mighty power I pray (1 Corinthians 10:13; Ephesians 6:10) (Pray for those you know of by name who are in the midst of trials and temptations…)!

Saturday
As we gather as Your people each Sunday, may the walls of ECB resound with the praise of Your great name! May strongholds of unbelief and doubt be broken and may there be salvation in Your house! Lead those who are searching, to salvation through Jesus!
May we be increasingly aware of the cunning schemes of the evil one. May we be wise and aware, every time we turn on our computers or TVs, and as we walk the streets of Bangkok. May we truly hate all that is evil and run to, cling to, everything that is good! May our eyes be fixed on Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:11; 11:3; Hebrews 12:2; Romans 12:17)!
As we gather this Sunday, be the wall of fire around us and the glory within us I pray! May glorious praise, thanksgiving and worship be unleashed among us, and Your name and Your word exalted (Zechariah 2:5; Psalm 138:2)!
Give Your Church ears to hear what You would say to us and willing hearts that obey (Revelation 2:29, Psalm 51:12).
