Prayer Guide 29 May 2022
Sunday
Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Father, thank You for sending Jesus, Your own Son, in the likeness of sinful man, to be a sin offering – for me, and providing the way for me to become Your child. It is through You alone that I have been reconciled to God, because of Your shed blood on the cross! Thank You Lord. Thank You for the cross. No longer am I alienated from God, an outcast or slave, but instead, because of Your sacrifice for me, I am now presented as holy in the Father’s sight, without blemish, free from accusation – His beloved child! My sins forgiven, my debt forgotten!
In light of this great gift, help me, I pray, to continue in my faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope that has been held out to me in the Gospel. Empower me by Your Spirit, to convey this ‘Gospel-hope’ to those around me. May the light of Jesus and the Gospel in me, so shine before others that they will turn and glorify You, Father. Keep me, I pray, from loving the world or the things of the world. Pry my fingers off of lesser loves, and all that diminishes the testimony of Jesus. Destroy all idols in my life…
Ignite in my heart once again, first love passion for You alone. Revive me, I pray! Fill me with Your compassion for those around me, and help me to love like Jesus. By Your Spirit, make me ready to give the reason for the hope that I have – You, Lord Jesus are my great hope. Do this I pray, that the incarnation of the Gospel may be lived-out through me. This I ask in Your mighty Name, Lord Jesus. Amen.

The idol of achieving, of longing for status, recognition, of being important – my addiction to work…
The idol of acquiring things, wanting more, wanting what others have, longing for things more than I long for You…
The idol of relationships, – for loving family more than I love You, for longing for relationships more than I long for You.
(Pause and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal other areas of your life that have become places of idolatry).

Monday
Father, I ask that the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace increase among us. May we serve like Jesus and consider one another as more important than ourselves (Ephesians 4:3; Philippians 2:1-11).
Father, I ask in Jesus mighty name, that You restore and heal broken marriages represented among us. May husbands truly love their wives as Jesus loved the Church and laid down His life for her. May husbands and wives submit to one another out of reverence and love for Christ. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on our families, strengthen marriage covenants and renew love and respect (1 Peter 3:7; Ephesians 5:22-28).

Tuesday
Father, I ask that among us, there would not be even a hint of sexual immorality or any kind of impurity or greed. For You have said that these things are improper for us because we belong to You. May all of our relationships be marked by purity I pray (Ephesians 5:3)!
Ask God to release the gifts of the Spirit among us. Pray that we will be obedient in using our giftings for the building up and edifying of the body of Christ so that there is no lack among us (1 Corinthians 12:27).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
As you pray, personalize this prayer and make it your own…
O God, You who holds all things together, and the nations in Your hand; You who in Your sovereignty has placed me here, in Bangkok, at this time in history; whose plans and ways are perfect – I submit to You.
Your will is that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance, and in accordance with Your will, I ask that this would be so among us. May we, the church called ECB grow through new converts.
May the Gospel be presented to the lost among us with power, the Holy Spirit and deep conviction, not only through words, but by our very lives.
Strengthen us and lead us by the Holy Spirit to pray in unity. Build us into a true house of prayer for all nations.
Teach us to make the most of every opportunity that we might constantly spread everywhere the fragrance of Christ. And allow us I pray, allow me, to be part of end-time harvest, that Jesus, the Lamb, might receive the reward for His suffering. I ask all of this in His mighty name. Amen (Colossians 1:17; Isaiah 46:11; James 4:7; 2 Peter 3:9; Acts 2:47; 1 Thessalonians 1:5; Colossians 4:5; 2 Corinthians 2:15).

Thursday
Lord Jesus, be exalted among us as we gather and worship, as we meet in homes, at our places of work, school and play. Be exalted, be glorified in our conversations, in the choices that we make, and the places we go. Whether we eat or drink or whatever it is that we might do. May we always be mindful that we belong to You, and do all things for Your glory alone (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB – protect them from the evil one, and may their hunger for Your Word and holiness increase (Pray for those you know, by name…)!

Friday
Lord Jesus, teach us to follow Your example and serve one another. May we prefer one another out of love for You and serve one another with joy (John 13:1-5; Philippians 2:1-11)!
I ask Lord, that You fill us, fill me, with a fresh determination to press on, to forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead (Philippians 3:12-13).
As we enter into deeper fellowship and community through the ministry of LIFE Groups, may we be unified by Your Spirit. I pray for my brothers and sisters, Father, and ask that they might be encouraged (Pray for those in your Life Group by name).
Father, may we increasingly be those who give to You cheerfully. May all grace abound to us, so that in all things, at all times, having all that we need, we might abound in every good work. May the light of Jesus be seen in our actions I pray (2 Corinthians 9:7-8).

Saturday
As we gather as Your people each Sunday, may the walls of ECB resound with the praise of Your great name! May strongholds of unbelief and doubt be broken, and may there be salvation in Your house! Lead those who are searching, to salvation through Jesus.
As we gather this Sunday, be the wall of fire around us and the glory within us, I pray. May glorious praise, thanksgiving and worship be unleashed among us, and Your name and Your word exalted (Zechariah 2:5; Psalm 138:2).
Anoint our Pastor, and give Your Church ears to hear what You would say to us through the preaching of Your Word (Revelation 2:29).
Prepare my heart today, Holy Spirit, for all that You have for me, as I worship with Your people tomorrow. Change me and make me more like Jesus.
…I commit all these things to You, Father, for You alone can accomplish what man cannot do. You alone are able, and I put my hope in Your great name.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
