Prayer Guide 26 June 2022

Sunday

I praise You LORD. This day, with all my heart, I praise You. May my entire life be marked by songs of praise from a heart overflowing with gratitude for all You have done, for Your plans and purposes stand firm forever and my trust is in You alone. You are the LORD who remains faithful forever.

Father, You uphold the cause of the oppressed, and this day, I ask that You come to the aid of those who cannot defend themselves (Pray for world situations and people groups that God has laid on your heart).

Father, You set prisoners free and give sight to the blind, and this day, I ask that You open spiritual eyes, that those who are imprisoned in darkness, without hope and without Christ, might understand their need of a Saviour and find freedom in Christ Jesus (Pray for those that God has laid on your heart, by name). In the midst of spiritual darkness, I will praise You, O LORD.

Father you lift up the broken-hearted and bind up their wounds. I ask in Jesus’ Name, that by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the broken places of my life be healed, that I in turn might minister to others (Pray for those areas of your life that still need the healing power of the Holy Spirit. Pray for others by name as well). In the midst of my own frailty, I will praise You Father, for You alone are God and faithful in all You do.

You rule over all Father – every situation, every circumstance, every living thing. You are LORD of all. You reign forever – through every generation, beginning to end, You reign over all! You are great LORD and mighty in power. Therefore, I trust in You. You are the LORD my God, who teaches me what is best and directs me in the way I should go. Today, I choose to submit to You and Your Word, and ask that You strengthen me to walk in obedience on the path You have laid out for me.

May Your peace increase in my life and be evident in all that I do and say. May all franticness, anxiety and fear be put to death, and a mighty river of peace released into every situation I face. Show Yourself mighty, I pray.

I praise You LORD. With all of my heart, this day, I praise You.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Monday

Father, I ask that You give to us as Your people, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we might know You better! Open the eyes of our hearts Father (Ephesians 1:17-18) (Pray this for those you know, by name)!

Ask God to energize us by His Spirit, that we might not be lethargic or overwhelmed in engaging the communities around us. Pray that we will increasingly be counter-cultural, radical followers of Jesus Christ. Ask God to give us every place that we set our feet for the sake of the Gospel (Joshua 1:3)!

Tuesday

Father, I know that You have called us as Your people, to totally embrace life in accordance with Your Word. I ask that as Your people, we will enter into a radical and continual renewing of our minds, that our living might be transformed, and we might be able to clearly discern Your will (John 14:15; Romans 12:1-2).

Lord Jesus, our times are filled with such evil. May we as Your people be careful in the way that we live and wise in all that we do. Help us to make the most of every opportunity for the purposes of Your kingdom (Ephesians 5:15-16) (Pray for those who you know by name, that they will be protected from the evil one).

I pray, Father, for those who will be leading LIFE Groups, and ask that You anoint them with the Holy Spirit that they might serve with Christlikeness.

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
Ask God to breathe new life into our community of faith by His Spirit, so that we might worship Him for who He is. Pray that we will increasingly praise Him in all things and give Him the glory that He is due. Ask the Holy Spirit to sponsor new songs of praise and worship among us.

Strengthen us and lead us by the Holy Spirit to pray in unity. Build us into a true house of prayer for all nations.

Father, I ask that the Holy Spirit be poured out on our hearts, bringing dead places to life, softening hard hearts. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation!

May the power of the resurrection be lived out daily, in our lives Father (Pause and consider what this might look like – pray into what God reveals to your heart)!

Father, may we as Your people, be those who are willing to go out into ‘deeper water’ with You. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask for myself Lord, keep us from standing on the shore and passively listening and watching. May we enter into the life of the Holy Spirit and the work of Your Kingdom (Luke 5:1-11)!

Thursday

Father, may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger (Ephesians 4:26; 4:2). Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility.

May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25). Smash the idols in our lives that we might love You only.

May we, from youngest to oldest, become those who do not just hear the Word, but be those who do what it says (James 1:22).

Father, I lift up our pastors to you, and I pray that their zeal for You will increase. Accomplish in them and through them, all that You have called them to do. May they not lean on their own understanding, but increasingly acknowledge You in all their ways. Make their path straight before them, I pray (Romans 12:11; I Thessalonians 5:24; Proverbs 3:5-6)

Friday

Father, I ask that as a community of faith, we will be found worthy of Your calling on our lives and empowered to fulfil every good purpose and every act prompted by faith. May this be accomplished among us so that the Lord Jesus may be glorified in us (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).

Lord Jesus, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be poured out on us in even greater measure, that there would be no lack in the ministries of ECB. May all who serve do so with great joy, using what we have received from You to serve others (1 Peter 4:10).

Lord Jesus, may our love for one another at ECB be sincere. Keep us from being superficial and uncaring, but teach us by Your Spirit to be devoted to one another in brotherly love and to truly honour one another (Romans 12:9-10).

Saturday

As we gather as Your people each Sunday, may the walls of ECB resound with the praise of Your great name! May strongholds of unbelief and doubt be broken, and may there be salvation in Your house! Lead those who are searching, to salvation through Jesus.

As we gather this Sunday, be the wall of fire around us and the glory within us, I pray. May glorious praise, thanksgiving and worship be unleashed among us, and Your name and Your word exalted (Zechariah 2:5; Psalm 138:2).

Anoint our pastor today, and give Your Church ears to hear what You would say to us through the preaching of Your Word (Revelation 2:29).

Prepare my heart today, Holy Spirit, for all that You have for me as I worship with Your people tomorrow. Change me and make me more like Jesus.
