Prayer Guide 07 August 2022
Sunday
Thank You Father, that You are with me to help me and to fight my battles. Thank You for the authority in the name of Jesus and that as I revere Your name, Your angels encamp around me bringing deliverance.
Remind me by the Holy Spirit, of Your faithfulness, and that You will not let me be tempted beyond what I can bear. Remember my weakness O God, and strengthen me to stand against the evil one (Pause and ask for God’s strength to be made perfect in your weakness regarding trials in your life).
Guard my heart from prideful thinking that says, ‘I am standing firm’, knowing that this is when I am apt to fall! May I be watchful and pray, daily putting on Your full armour so that I can stand against the devil’s schemes.
Thank You Jesus, that You have disarmed the powers and authorities of darkness and made a public spectacle of them triumphing over them by the cross! Thank You that because I am in You, I share in Your authority!
Teach me to stand firm, I pray, and to recognize in every situation that my identity and strength are in You alone.
Remind me that the weapon of Your Word is powerful and has divine power to demolish strongholds! And so I ask Father that You open my spiritual eyes to the strongholds that yet remain in my life.
Deliver me from excuse-making and inattentiveness to my soul.
Empower me by Your Spirit, to demolish every argument that is against the knowledge of Christ. May I be disciplined in my pilgrimage. I desire to be a person of Your Word and of prayer. Help me Father! I am weary of being a person of good intentions and little fruit!
May I learn to wield with might the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. May I pronounce Your Word over my sin and the circumstances of my life, pray Your Word, know and apply Your Word, that it may richly live in me and empower me to live more boldly for You - for surely Lord Jesus You are coming soon! Make me ready I pray. Make me ready!
In Jesus’ Victorious Name. Amen.

Monday
Father I ask in Jesus’ name that You remove all spiritual blinders from our eyes. Open our hearts and minds to recognize the encroachment of sin in our lives. In our love for Jesus, may we be radical in our pursuit of holiness (Psalm 19:12-14; 69:5).
May our joy in knowing You Lord, and the realization of what you have done for us through Jesus, fill us with increasing joy. Strengthen us with joy I pray (Nehemiah 8:10)! Father may all pessimism, unbelief and negative thinking that is present among us be replaced with vibrant irrepressible joy in Jesus!

Tuesday
Father, I ask that the ECB community of faith become increasingly generous in the way that we ‘sow’ into your work. Take our gifts, talents, time and money and multiply it over and over to feed many (2 Corinthians 9:6; John 6:1-15).
Give us, I pray, divine appointments with neighbours, co-workers and friends and make us ready to give the reason for the hope that we have! May the Good News of Jesus Christ spread through our lives (Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17; 1 Peter 3:15) (Pause and pray for neighbourhoods, offices, schools, where brothers and sisters from ECB live and work. Ask that doors be open for the Gospel).
Jesus I pray for those among us who are seeking Truth. Draw them to Yourself by the Holy Spirit I pray. Open their spiritual eyes that they might know You (Pray for those you know, by name).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Remind Your people around the city this day Lord, to be watchful and pray so that they will not fall into temptation (Mark 14:38).
Father strengthen my brothers and sisters this day to be strong in You and in Your mighty power. May we each put on the full armour that You have provided through Christ Jesus, and stand firm against the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:10-11)! Pray for those by name, who the Holy Spirit brings to mind.
May Your Word Lord, penetrate our hearts and expose thoughts and attitudes that are not pleasing to You. Purify us from the inside out (Hebrews 4:12-13)! Pray that the Word of God will take deeper root in our hearts and minds. Pray for those you know, by name.
Strengthen us, (strengthen me!) that we might become those who demolish strongholds and bring our very thoughts into alignment with Your Word (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Strengthen us that we might be those who are watchful and pray. Raise up intercessors and prayer warriors among us! (Matthew 26:41)

Thursday
Father, make us to be a people of blessing. May we become increasingly generous in the way we live our lives and give to others.
Teach us to control our tongues, Lord. May all gossip and unwholesome talk be put to death among us and may we instead become those who edify, encourage and build one another up.
As we enter into deeper fellowship and community through the ministry of LIFE Groups, may we be unified by Your Spirit. I pray for my brothers and sisters, Father, and ask that they might be encouraged (Pray for those in your Life Group by name).
Ask God to pour out His Spirit on His Church in the country that you are from. Pray for pastors, that they will be revived and preach the Word boldly. Pray for spiritual harvest.

Friday
Lord Jesus, help us to abide in You, that we as Your people might bear spiritual fruit and by doing so, show that we are truly Your disciples (John 15:5-8). Allow us, I pray, to see harvest come in, and souls come to know Jesus!
Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy and establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17) (Pray for those you know, by name)!
Pray for the nations of the Middle East. Ask God to pour out His Spirit on these places of unrest and raise up His Church to bless. Pray that there will be great spiritual harvest!

Saturday
Father, I ask that those who come to ECB seeking answers about who You are and what it means to follow Jesus, will be drawn by the Holy Spirit to salvation.
As we gather tomorrow, may each of us extend the welcome of Jesus to those around us and may Jesus be so seen in and through us more and more.
May all of us tomorrow have hearts that are ready to receive the Word, and may we put into action what we hear (James 1:22). Prepare us today to worship You tomorrow.
Father, You have said that the sacrifices that You are looking for are a broken spirit and contrite heart. Destroy pride among us Lord and give to us the gift of repentance (Psalm 51:16-17). May ‘first love passion’ for Jesus be restored in our fellowship – Revive us I pray (Psalm 85:6)!
