Prayer Guide 14 August 2022
Sunday
“You can influence more people for God, and have a greater role in advancing Christ’s cause by prayer than in any other way. It is not the only thing you must do, but it is the greatest thing you can do.”

‘Touch the World Through Prayer'
Thank You Father, that Jesus has borne my sin and stands before You praying on my behalf. How thankful I am, that because of His sacrifice, I have confidence to enter into Your Most Holy Presence. Teach me to pray O God, with this in mind, that I might pray with greater boldness!
Teach me to pray Your heart, Your will, Your Word. Help me, Lord, for I am often self-focused in Your presence and give in to the worries of this life and miss the blessing of praying Your heart for your Church and the world around me (Pause and ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you to intercede).
Empower me by Your Spirit, that through prayer, I might be part of seeing Your Kingdom come and Your will being accomplished. Use me, I pray, to “build up the wall” and stand in the gap on behalf of others.
May the burden and intensity of the needs of a lost world, my brothers and sisters in Christ and my community of faith so overtake me, that I cannot keep silent day or night before You (Pause and consider: Do I have the love and compassion of Christ for those around me? For His Church? Pray into your response. Ask God to fill you with His love).
Father, I confess that I frequently turn from Your presence… by Your Spirit, teach me to worship continually and seek Your face (Pause and pray…).
I have been undisciplined in prayer, Lord… teach me what it means to always pray and never give up (Pause and ask for faith to believe for what you are still waiting for the answer…).
I have not meditated on Your Word and my heart has become dull… O God, forgive me! May the burning fire of Your Word consume me once again and impassion my praying (Pause and ask for increased hunger for the Word).
Mold me Father, into a prayer-warrior for Your Kingdom. And use me in strengthening the foundation of prayer in Your Church, that we as Your people might increasingly be those who pray first and pray always.
In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Monday
May we be a people who forgive others as You Lord, have forgiven us, and extend grace to one another freely (Matthew 10:18).
Father, I ask that You give to us as Your people, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know You better! Open the eyes of our hearts Father (Ephesians 1:17-18) (Pray this for those you know at ECB by name)!
Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups, who teach and minister among us, that they will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy and establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17)! Raise up others to lead, Father (Pray for leaders that you know of by name)!

Tuesday
May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25). Smash the idols in our lives, that we might love You only.
Father, may those who lead us, our pastors, elders and deacons have Your wisdom. Increase their discernment, Father. Pour out Your Spirit on them I pray.
Pray that the ‘seeds’ of the Gospel that have been sown into this nation for decades and are dormant in the ground, will be watered by the Spirit, come forth and produce fruit.

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Keep us from turning away from You Father. May we be steadfast and unmovable, always giving ourselves to Your work (1 Corinthians 15:59). Strengthen us with joy I pray (Nehemiah 8:10).
Father, may we be strong in You and in Your mighty power, and not put confidence in our own strength. May each of us daily wear the full armour that You have provided – may we ‘put on’ Jesus! Remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood and strengthen us to stand firm. Teach us to pray continually (Ephesians 6:10-18).
Pray that righteousness will prevail in the nation of Thailand. Pray that the hearts of those in political positions, will be drawn to Jesus. Pray that Jesus will be revealed to the hearts of Thai people in dreams and visions, and through the testimony of His Church. Pray that our brothers and sisters in Christ in this nation will be strengthened to be true salt and light.

Thursday
Father, deliver us from lust I pray and purify our hearts until our greatest passion and desire is for You alone (Matthew 5:27-30).
Father may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger (Ephesians 4:26; 4:2). Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility.
Forgive our timidity Father, and embolden us to be risk-takers for the sake of Your Kingdom (Ephesians 3:30; Hebrews 11:1,6)!
I pray for my brothers and sisters at ECB Lord, and ask that our daily living display Christ in greater and greater clarity, and the imprint of Jesus left on all we touch (Pause and pray for ECB brothers and sisters that the Holy Spirit brings to mind).

Friday
Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ who are entangled somehow in sin. I ask that they would receive a fresh glimpse of You watching for their return, and run into Your arms (Luke 15:20-24).
Father, I pray for those among us who have unbelieving spouses and prodigal children (Pray for those you know of by name). I ask that You encourage them by Your Spirit and give them a sign of Your goodness, so that they do not grow weary or fall into unbelief while they wait on You. Empower my sisters and brothers to live out Christ in such a way that the hearts of their loved ones are drawn to You.
I ask in Jesus’ mighty name, that every stronghold of addiction be broken off of us. Reveal the hidden things, Father! Purify us and make us holy (Job 28:11)!

Saturday
Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray! May each of us come before you with songs of thanksgiving and joy – open our lips that we might declare Your praise. Keep us from just listening to Your Word, may we be those who do what it says (Psalm 51:15; Ephesians 5:26; James 1:22)!
Give us ears to hear what Your Spirit is saying to the church, what You are saying to me (Pause and pray: “Speak Lord, Your servant is listening”) (1 Samuel 3:9) (Be still and listen).
Pray for those who are transitioning into Bangkok and ECB. Pray that they will quickly sense the welcome of Jesus among us and connect to community. Pray also for those who are transitioning away from Bangkok. Ask God to go before them and strengthen them for the next step of their journey and use them as salt and light (Pray for those you know by name).
