Prayer Guide 15 January 2023

Sunday

Father, I thank You for the promise of Your Word that those who hope in You will renew their strength. O God, I am weary. Weary of the world and wickedness, weary of pain and brokenness. Weary of doing things in my own strength and my own way. Forgive me Lord, for too often I do not look to You when You alone are the source of all strength. My strength comes from You.

Nothing – no matter how difficult it may seem in my eyes – is impossible with You! And so Father, I ask You to strengthen me to soar on wings of eagles above the situations in my life that seem overwhelmingly impossible.

Forgive me I pray, for putting confidence in my own strength and wisdom instead of You and Your mighty power. I’m so very tired of weak-living. Empower me, I pray, to walk and not faint. Strengthen me I pray. Help and uphold me! With Your righteous right hand and with power through Your Spirit and may Christ dwell in my heart in all of His fullness.

May I be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live my life in such a way that is worthy of You. May I please You in every way and bear spiritual fruit that will last. Strengthen me to wait on You to work on my behalf and joyfully give thanks to You in all things, regardless of what I do or do not see.

I confess to You Lord –

the weakness of my faith and flesh… Destroy doubt and unbelief in me Lord. (Pause and ask for faith to rise-up in your heart once again)

the undisciplined use of my mind… Forgive my laziness Father. (Pause and commit yourself to renew your mind with the Word of God)

the sin that I yet hold on to… May all deeds of darkness bow to the name of Jesus and sin in my life be eradicated. (Pause and confess those things that the Holy Spirit brings to min.)

the timid ways in which I still live…Fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit that I might walk in boldness. (Pause and commit to Jesus any situation that you would rather run from. Ask for strength and wisdom to be Christ’s ambassador)

O God, have mercy on me! Help me to lean on You and find my strength in You alone! May your strength be made perfect in my weaknesses.

As I pilgrimage with You, may each day – until I see Your face, find me becoming ever stronger and more like Jesus. For it is in His Name that I come boldly. Amen.

Monday

Father, make ECB to be a community of faith that truly lives by the Spirit and keeps in step with the Spirit. May we not in any way put out the Spirit’s fire, but rather, fan into flame the gift of God that is in us
(Galatians 5:25, 1 Thessalonians 5:19; 2 Timothy 1:6)!

Increase our boldness in speaking Your Word, Father and confirm Your Word among us with signs and wonders, that You Lord Jesus might be exalted, and the unbelieving come to faith (Acts 4:29-30)!

Father, I ask that You strengthen us to endure hardship as your loving discipline in our lives. Use the trials that we face, as we submit to You, to train us and make us holy (Hebrews 12:7-12).

Tuesday

Where there is depression or despair, discouragement or doubt among us, may it be dispelled in Jesus Name and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit be poured out (Romans 15:13). (Pray for those you know by name)

May we as Your people not be lacking in zeal, but may our spiritual fervour in serving You increase! Strengthen us, I pray, that we might be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer (Romans 12:10-11).

Father, Your Word says that You have not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7) I ask, in Jesus mighty name, that fear be crushed and put to death in the lives of my brothers and sisters at ECB. Replace timidity with holy boldness, I pray.

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
Holy Spirit strengthen and anoint our pastors, that they might minister among us with great power and wisdom.

Father, I ask that You give to us as Your people, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know You better! Open the eyes of our hearts Father! (Ephesians 1:17-18) (Pray this for those you know at ECB by name)

May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us, Lord. Establish the work of our hands. (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17)

Lord Jesus, help us to abide in You that we as Your people might bear spiritual fruit and by doing so, show that we are truly Your disciples. (John 15:5-8)

Allow us, I pray to see harvest come in, and souls come to know Jesus! Open spiritual eyes, I pray.

I ask Father, that cultural preferences be set aside and that we will be increasingly unified under the ‘culture of Christ.’ Make us one Lord (John 17).

May our times of personal and corporate worship be infused with fresh Spirit-life, I pray. May we worship You in spirit and in truth and give You the glory due Your Name (John 4:23-24).

Saturday

Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray! Make our hearts ready for the seed of Your Word – Father, make me hungry for Your Word! May each of us come before you tomorrow with songs of thanksgiving and joy! Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather and change us into a people that is conformed to the image of Jesus!

May we as Your people, have ears to hear what Your Spirit would say to us. Anoint our Pastor I pray – may those who lead us in worship be empowered by Your Spirit, those who come tomorrow who do not yet know You, be drawn to You, and O God, pour out Your Holy Spirit on us! Renew us! Revive us! Change Us!

Father, I ask that You build this house called ECB – we do not want to labour in vain! In Your good pleasure, make ECB prosper. May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).
