The Evangelical Church of Bangkok (ECB) is seeking a Discipleship Pastor to join our leadership team as we pursue our mission of making disciples for global impact. This position requires a minimum commitment of three years. Applications will begin to be reviewed on February 1, 2026, with an anticipated start date between May and September 2026, depending on visa requirements.
1.ECB Church Profile
ECB is an international church located in the heart of Bangkok (Thailand). ECB was founded in 1966 by the Christian & Missionary Alliance and over the past six decades it has grown from a preaching post for missionaries into a multicultural faith community of around 1,000 adults and 200 children from 50+ nations around the world. Next to the centrality of Jesus, ECB’s ministry is built on faithfulness to the Word of God, prayer as a matter of first importance and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
At ECB we are passionate about our mission of making disciples for global impact who reflect Jesus in all of life. Central to this mission is ECB’s emphasis on age-appropriate discipleship programs (children, youth, adults), LIFE groups (the smaller expression of the larger community of faith) and partnerships with various Christian NGO’s, through which ECB implements its missional strategy. For this reason, ECB is strategically organized in four ecosystems: Community Life, Spiritual Formation, Mobilization, and Shared Services.
ECB’s faith community consists of many different cultural and denominational backgrounds, which gives the church a unique feel. ECB’s texture can be best described as one of passionate participation in corporate worship gatherings, hunger for spiritual growth and active participation by ministry volunteers.

International church ministry in a city like Bangkok comes with multiple opportunities and challenges. Shaping and maintaining a welcoming community as the foundation for discipleship, equipping followers of Christ for disciple-making in their everyday spheres of life and increasing ECB’s missional footprint are just three of the many opportunities for ECB in the coming years. International church ministry also comes with challenges, which include doing ministry in an intercultural and bilingual setting and the ongoing need to recruit ministry volunteers given the transient nature of the congregation.

ECB employs a full-time team of 30 people, including pastors, ministry leaders, office staff and facility staff. The ministries are further supported by a committed team of ministry heads and hundreds of ministry volunteers.

Thus, we believe God has uniquely positioned ECB to reach the nations for Christ. We are passionate about fostering a vibrant church where people are nurtured in community, transformed through discipleship, and empowered for global impact. With this in mind, we are praying for God to form a team called to pursue this amazing opportunity in the unity of the Spirit. Is God calling you to join our team?
