This week's Life Group Questions
- Read Isaiah 9:1-7 and John 1:1-5. What truths jump out at you as you listen?
- What does Christmas mean to you?
- In general, Christmas gets a lot more attention than Easter? Why is that?
- How do you think the world understands Christmas?
- What do you think Christmas means to God?
- During the Christmas season, what is your primary focus – i.e., what do you spend most of your time doing or thinking about?
- Even though the world does not receive Jesus (John 1:10-11), it is interesting that “lights†are a big part of all Christmas decorations everywhere. What do you think this means for us and for the way the Church of Jesus (specifically ECB) might approach the world?
- Read 2 Corinthians 4:6. How has the Light of Jesus’ coming impacted your life?
- In what ways does the world see the Light of Jesus in you? In what ways not? What result of the Light is missing in your life?
- Read John 10:10. Which of the results listed for the coming of the Light do you most need? (Forgiveness, Insight, Security / hope, Peace / assurance, Approval, Truth, or something else Jesus gives…) Have you asked Jesus for this?
- “Seeing the light†means responding to Who God is, living by what He says and discerning what God is doing. Which of these three is most difficult for you?
- How should we pray right now as a group and for ECB?
