This week's Life Group Questions

1.REVIEW
Based on the study of Daniel 9, read 2 Kings 24:1-20 to put yourself in Daniel’s shoes. What are three words that come to mind as you read the circumstances that led to his exile?

2.APPLICATION
A.Like Daniel, we have all been wounded in our past. Yet, there is a big difference between learning to live with the wounds of your past and learning to heal form them. Which one of these following mindsets have you experienced in your life? Tell us about it. (circle the ones that apply)

___ I have lived with an overwhelming feeling that life is unfair.
___ At moments I have blamed God, thinking that my wounds are God’s fault.
___ I often feel resentful, anxious, depressed, angry, vengeful, or numb.
___ I have often told myself, “Just move on,” or “Get over it.”

B.God wants you to experience inner healing. He often takes us through a process of awakening, which leads us to honest conversations about it, which eventually produces healing and renewal. Which one of these phases have you experienced before or are experiencing now? Tell us about it.

___ Awakening: God has compelled me to address my wounds.
___ Brutal Honesty: God moved me to have open and honest conversations about it.
___ Brutal Honesty: God helped me trust His sovereignty and acknowledge my faults.
___ Renewal: God gave me a new beginning shaped by grace and new understanding.

3.GET DEEPER
Which one of these three obstacles is keeping you from seeking inner healing and confronting the wounds of your past? What will you do about it?

___ Obstacle 1: I prefer to keep ignoring my past, because it is too hard or painful to address.
This is what I will do about it: ________________________________________________

___ Obstacle 2: I prefer to keep things to myself and not talk about them, because it is too shameful or I want to avoid conflict.
This is what I will do about it: ________________________________________________

___ Obstacle 3: I believe that my wound is too deep or too complex to really heal.
This is what I will do about it: ________________________________________________

4.PRAYER
Share with each other about a current situation that God wants you to address in order to heal. If it is too personal, you can identify it without too many details. Read Psalm 139:23-24 out loud. Then pray together as a group:

a.Thank God for His love and for His desire to bring inner healing to your life.
b.Tell God your situation and ask him to help you discern the next steps for experiencing inner healing.
c.Thank God in advance for what He will do as you respond to His invitation to confront your past.
