This week's Life Group Questions
1. REVIEW
As you reflect in the entire series Servants of the Living God, what is one insight that you gained from the life of Daniel that was helpful for your life? Sessions Summary:
(1) How do you see your job?
(2) How do you face challenges?
(3) What do you do when your convictions are tested?
(4) How important is truth?
(5) Where is your security?
(6) How do you want to prosper?
(7) Have you confronted your past?
(8) How far into the future is your projection?
2. APPLICATION
Like Daniel, we all make life projections and start wondering about the future. Often that process produces emotions that are unhealthy. Which one of the following words capture the way you have been feeling about the future? Explain.
___ Anxiety: I often worry about how things will turn out in my future.
___ Fear: I am afraid of facing death and what will happen if I die.
___ Self-centeredness: I am pursuing a future that seeks affluence, comfort, and relaxation rather than relevance.
3. GET DEEPER
God wants you to live with eternal perspective, so you can experience an impactful and fulfilling life. Write True or False in the following assertions. Which one of these traits is true of your life today? Which one is missing? Tell us about it.
___ PEACE: I believe that God has ordained my days and I cannot add a single day to my life; therefore, I am not anxious about the future.
___ ANTICIPATION: I know if I die I will be with Christ, which is better by far; therefore, I am not afraid of death.
___ IMPACT: I know that I will have to give an account to Christ for my service to Him; therefore, I am pursuing a life that invests in areas that matter to Him.
4. PRAYER
Read the prayer of Jesus found in John 17:4 out loud. “I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.” May these words be also true of you. Take time to pray with each other, inviting God to guide you to live the rest of your life in a relevant and impactful way.
a. Thank God for His love and for giving you eternal life.
b. Thank God for Daniel and for his example of a life lived as a Servant of the Living God.
c. Tell God that you want to live an impactful life for Him and invite Him to guide you.
d. Ask God to free you from fear and anxiety as you trust Him with your future.
e. Thank God in advance for what He will do as you respond to His invitation to live with eternal perspective.
