This week's Life Group Questions

1. REVIEW

In this study we learned that pursuing a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit requires us to change our attitude and response. We experience more intimacy with God when we see the Holy Spirit as a gift to be treasured and practice repentance. Let’s explore how this study connects with your life.

Conversation starter: What is one key insight that you gained from this study?

2. APPLICATION

A. Christians have different attitudes about the Holy Spirit. Which ones best describe your attitude?

Obsession: I’ve been focused on seeking the manifestations/gifts of the Spirit rather than on seeking
intimacy with the person of the Holy Spirit.

Apprehension: My fear of becoming one of those “weird Christians,” keeps me from pursuing more
intimacy with the Holy Spirit.

Apathy: I’ve been justifying my sinful behaviors, finding excuses to remain stuck in my spiritual life.

Intimacy: I am hungry for more of God in my life, and I treasure the presence of the Holy Spirit in me.

Repentance: I am quick to confess and repent from any sin the Holy Spirit convicts me about because I
do not want to grieve the Holy Spirit in me.

3. GET DEEPER

4. GROUP PRAYER OF REPENTANCE:

Holy Spirit,

a. I repent from not treasuring you and seeking intimacy with you.
b. I repent from resisting you even though you have been convicting me of my sin.
c. I repent from caring more about your gifts rather than about you.
d. I repent from pushing my loved ones to be converted rather than resting on your time to convict them of their sin and bring them to Jesus.
e. Today I ask you to help me grow deeper in my relationship with you. Take me to deeper levels.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

f. If you have never asked Jesus to save you, ask him today. Pray:

Holy Spirit, I repent for rejecting you and refusing to believe in Jesus. Today I repent for my sins and I ask Jesus to save me. From now on, I commit to following Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and I welcome you in my life. Take me to deeper levels with you. In Jesus name. Amen.
