Prayer Guide 26 April 2020
Sunday
Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Before you begin, sit quietly before the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your mind, the names of fellow believers at ECB. Pray God’s blessing on their lives. Ask God to give you greater love for our community of faith.
Father, I thank You that Jesus came in bodily form – “God with skin onâ€, but that He made Himself to be as nothing, and lived His life as a servant is more than I can comprehend. The example that He left for me to follow, Father – to serve and love others as He did, is what I long to see lived out in my life, but I confess that I usually give in to my selfish nature and live to please myself instead. O Lord, forgive me.
Forgive me for putting my needs and desires before those of others.
Forgive me for the many ways that I live my life with little or no regard for Your Kingdom purposes or Your Bride, the Church.
Forgive me, I pray, for allowing my heart to grow cold and indifferent to the lost world all around me (Pause and continue to confess those things that the Holy Spirit brings to your mind…).
Help me Lord, or I will drown in my love of comfort and self-serving ways. Keep me from thinking more highly of myself than I should. Remind me again, (and again) that I am not my own, that I have been bought with a very great price, the precious blood of the Lord Jesus, and that as a member of the Body of Christ, I belong to my brothers and sisters. May my daily living connect more and more with Your Kingdom purposes.
I ask that You guard my frail heart from arrogance or false humility. Restore balance in my pilgrimage. I ask that You destroy my need to be approved of by others, and anchor my identity in You alone. Free me to serve You unshackled from the weight of being self-aware and concerned for my own interests (what others think, or if they notice or approve). Teach me the joy of loving and serving others, and may I be “Jesus with skin-on†to a world that is lost and without hope.
May Your light be seen in my countenance Lord Jesus, Your love expressed in my every action and the hope that You offer to all, heard in every conversation. Be glorified through me. I pray in Your mighty Name. Amen.

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
Father, may the world know that we belong to You by the way that we love one another. May the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace, increase in our fellowship. Help us to be completely humble and gentle with one another and to bear with one another in love (Ephesians 4:2-3).
As we continue to enter into deeper fellowship and community through the ministry of LIFE Groups, may we be unified by Your Spirit. May each LIFE Group grow to the point of multiplying, that the blessing of community might increase (Pray for LIFE Group leaders by name…)!
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ worldwide, who are facing persecution for their faith. Ask God to strengthen them by His Spirit. Pray that the Church of Jesus will grow and expand in spite of those who come against it. Pray for those among us who have fled their countries. Ask God for His favour to be on them in their resettlement process.

Tuesday
Lord Jesus, our times are filled with such evil. May we as Your people, be careful in the way that we live and be wise in all that we do. Help us to make the most of every opportunity for the purposes of Your kingdom (Ephesians 5:15-16) (Pray for those at ECB that you know by name, that they will be protected from the evil one).
May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire. Smash the idols in our lives that we might love You only ( 2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25).

Wednesday
ECB Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you. To receive a weekly Prayer and Fasting e-mail, please contact [email protected].
Father, fill us with such passion for You that we seek You, Your kingdom and Your righteousness – first. (Matthew 6:33) Holy Spirit reveal to us the ways and the things that we seek first instead of seeking You.
Pour out Your Holy Spirit on our pastors Lord, may they minister among us with great power and wisdom.
Father, I ask that You give to us as Your people, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we might know You better! Open the eyes of our hearts Father (Ephesians 1:17-18) (Pray this for those you know at ECB by name)!
May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).
Lord Jesus, help us to abide in You, that we as Your people might bear spiritual fruit and by doing so, show that we are truly Your disciples. Allow us, I pray, to see harvest come in, and souls come to know Jesus! Open spiritual eyes, I pray (John 15:5-8).

You have said Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!
Father, may we as Your people, be those who are willing to go out into ‘deeper water’ with You. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask for myself Lord, keep us from standing on the shore and passively listening and watching. My we enter into the life of the Holy Spirit and the work of Your kingdom (Luke 5:1-11)!
Remove doubt and unbelief among us, and replace it with holy boldness. Confirm Your Word among us with signs and wonders, that You, Lord Jesus, might be exalted and the unbelieving come to know You and our own faith increase (Acts 4:29-30)!

Friday
Father, may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger (Ephesians 4:26; 4:2). Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility. May we be a people who forgive others as You, Lord, have forgiven us, and extend grace to one another freely (Matthew 10:18). May the unity of the Spirit increase among us.
May there be no lack among us! Release the gifts of the Spirit in even greater measure, I pray (Pray for Crosstown Children’s Ministry, Youth Exchange, BCE, Oasis Women’s Ministry, LIFE Groups, Worship Ministry and Tech Team… Ask God for increase.).
Father, I pray for those among us who have unbelieving spouses and prodigal children (Pray for those you know of by name…). I ask that You encourage them by Your Spirit and give them a sign of Your goodness, so that they do not grow weary or fall into unbelief while they wait on You. Empower my sisters and brothers to live out Christ in such a way that the hearts of their loved ones are drawn to You.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I cancel all plans of the enemy that seek to come against us as Your people tomorrow, raise up a standard against him, I pray!
