Prayer Guide 23 August 2020

Sunday

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Consider standing and reading this prayer of adoration and thanksgiving out loud.

I will give thanks to You O Lord and call on Your name. I will make known among the nations, in this nation – the nation of Thailand, the amazing things that You have done. I will sing to You and praise You alone and remember the wonders that You have done!

I give thanks to You Lord, for You are good, Your love endures forever!

You are God above all gods and I will thank You alone – Your love endures forever!

You alone are LORD of lords, Your love endures forever!

It is You alone who has done great wonders! Your love endures forever!

It is You O God who created the heavens and spread out the earth - Your love endures forever!

You made the sun to govern the day and the moon and stars to illumine the night. Your faithful love never changes!

You remembered me when I was lost and without You and freed me from the enemy! Hallelujah! Your love endures forever!

While I was still in my sin, Christ died for me! Your love endures forever!

You have not kept a record of my sin, or treat me as my sin deserves, but through Christ You have removed my sin from me as far as the east is from the west and remember it no more!! Hallelujah!! Your faithful, unchanging love endures forever!

I will bless Your name O Lord, and in Your name I will lift up my hands for Your faithful love endures forever!

I praise You O Lord! Yours alone is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours O Lord is the kingdom – You are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honour come from You alone for You are the ruler of all things. In Your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.

This day I join with all of heaven, and Your people everywhere in giving You thanks and praising Your glorious name! Hallelujah! Your faithful love endures forever! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen and Amen!

Monday

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
Tune our ears to hear Your voice, and guide our feet that we might walk in Your way alone. Give us ‘God-sized’ dreams, Father, for the ministries that You wish to accomplish through us. Forgive our lack of faith, and embolden us to be risk-takers for the sake of Your kingdom (Hebrews 11:1, 6)!

Keep us from turning away from You, Father. May we be steadfast. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Make Your face shine on us, that the world may know that we are Yours (Psalm 81:18-19).

I pray for my brothers and sisters at ECB, Lord, and ask that we might all ‘run the race’ in such a way as to be found worthy of the prize (1 Corinthians 9:27). May our daily living display Christ in greater and greater clarity, and the imprint of Jesus be left in our wake (Pray for those you know at ECB, by name…).

Tuesday

May we put on the helmet of salvation and declare that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved from our sin! You, Lord Jesus, are the Christ, the Son of the Living God! You are our salvation! Overwhelm us again Lord, with the joy of Your salvation (Ephesians 6:17; Acts 4:12; Matthew 16:16’ Psalm 51:12)!

Father, may every ministry need among us at ECB be met by Your Holy Spirit through us. Strengthen our pastors, elders and deacons to serve with joy and give them wisdom and discernment that is from You.

Ask God to make our fellowship of believers to be a lighthouse in the city of Bangkok. Pray that Jesus will clearly be seen in us and through us.

Wednesday

ECB Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you. To receive a weekly Prayer and Fasting e-mail, please contact [email protected]
As you pray, mention by name those from ECB that the Holy Spirit brings to mind.

For those among us who are still seeking, and have yet to call on Your name, reveal Yourself to them Lord, draw them by Your Spirit. Add to our fellowship daily those who are being saved (John 6:44; Acts 2:47)!

Father, may we like Mary, learn to sit at Your feet and not worry about the many things in our lives that press in around us. May we be strengthened to choose the ‘better way’ of intimate fellowship with You (Luke 10:41-42).

Father, You have said that the sacrifices that You are looking for are a broken spirit and contrite heart. Destroy pride among us Lord, and give to us the gift of repentance I pray (Psalm 51:16-17).

Pray for those among us who are leaving ECB for a new assignment or returning to their home country. Pray that they will be the salt and light of Jesus. Pray also for those arriving in Bangkok and at ECB. Pray that the welcome of Jesus would be among us and that they would quickly feel at home. Pray for the ministries of ECB at this time of transition.

Thursday

Lord Jesus, be exalted among us as we gather and worship, as we meet in homes, in LIFE Groups, at our places of work, school and play. Be exalted, be glorified in our conversations, in the choices that we make, and the places we go. Whether we eat or drink or whatever it is that we might do. May we always be mindful that we belong to You, and do it all for Your glory (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Father, I pray that we will become the kind of worshipers that You are seeking – those who worship in spirit and in truth. Open the eyes of our hearts and reveal the hidden things, for You have said that You desire truth in our inmost parts. Show us, Lord, show me, where I am still withholding my heart from You (John 4:23-24; Ephesians 1:18; Job 28:11; Psalm 51:6).

Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit.

Friday

Lord Jesus teach us to follow Your example and serve one another. May we prefer one another out of love for You and serve one another with joy (John 13:1-5; Philippians 2:1-11)!

Father, You are the God of all hope. I ask that You fill us with all joy and peace as we trust in You, so that we might overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).

I ask in Jesus’ mighty name, that every stronghold of addiction be broken off of us, Your people. Reveal the hidden things, Father! Purify us and make us holy (Job 28:11)!

Pray for the Church of Jesus Christ in your home nation. Ask God to pour out His Spirit on pastors and teachers of the Word. Pray that their hearts will be renewed and the flocks that they lead, revived! Pray for spiritual harvest!

Saturday

Jesus, You said that we are to make disciples of all nations – show us this way! Surely You have put us here in Bangkok at this point in time, for Your plans and purposes – may we, as Your people, enter in with joy to all that You have for us. Increase the harvest among us! May many come to Jesus! And yes, Lord, give us the nations (Matthew 28:19)!

Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray! May each of us come before you with songs of thanksgiving and joy – open our lips that we might declare Your praise – may our hearts be unleashed! Keep us from just listening to Your Word, may we be those who do what it says (Psalm 51:15; Ephesians 5:26; James 1:22)!

Pray that God will raise up people from the ECB fellowship to serve in places of need within the ministries of our community of faith.
