Prayer Guide 30 January 2022
Sunday
“You may force your way through anything with the leverage of prayers… If you take care that you work away with the mighty implement of prayer, nothing can stand against you.”
Charles Spurgeon
Charles Spurgeon
Father, I thank You, for Your great mercy and love poured out for me through the work of Christ. But, I confess that I often live without any thought of Your great sacrifice and have engaged my mind and body in things of this world that are not holy or pleasing to You.
You have said that presenting my body as a living sacrifice is part of my spiritual worship, and I confess Lord, that I have forsaken it. Forgive me Lord. Help me to discipline my body and put to death my fleshly nature (Pause and commit your body to the Lordship of Christ. Pray through those things that the Holy Spirit brings to mind).
Father, I have allowed my mind to be entangled with the patterns of this world and its standard instead of the standard of Your Word. Help me, Lord! By Your Spirit, strengthen me. Be the filter over my eyes and mind (Pause and commit your mind to the Lordship of Christ. Pray through those things that the Holy Spirit brings to mind).
Forgive me for wanting my pursuit of You to be easy. Forgive my slothfulness, O God! Instead, may I run after You in such a way as to get the prize, and discipline myself so as not to be disqualified.
Give me the gift of wisdom and discernment, I pray, and guard my mind from hollow and deceptive philosophies that depend on human tradition and principles of this world, rather than on Christ and Your Word. I ask this so that my mind might be truly renewed and my living transformed.
I choose, Father, to give up my rights and the control of my life, that I might be a living sacrifice, and I pronounce this day, my great desire to follow You wholeheartedly (Pause and commit yourself to this before the Lord…). I long, Lord Jesus, to experience Holy Spirit empowered, transformational living — daily! To see Jesus lived out in me — through me, in ways I have not yet known — grant this, I pray. O Holy Spirit of God, purify me, refine me I pray, until all of me is conformed to You, Lord Jesus, and I learn the secret and discipline of becoming a living sacrifice.
Only You can accomplish this and I commit myself to participate with You, in becoming more like Christ. I pray these things in His great name – the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Monday
Father, I know that You have called us as Your people to totally embrace life in accordance with Your Word. I ask that as Your people we will enter into a radical and continual renewing of our minds, that our living might be transformed and we might be able to clearly discern Your will (John 14:15; Romans 12:1-2).
I ask Father, that cultural preferences be set aside and that we will be increasingly unified under the ‘culture of Christ.’ Make us one, Lord (John 17).

Tuesday
Lord Jesus, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be poured out on us in even greater measure, that there would be no lack in the ministries of ECB. May all who serve do so with great joy, using what we have received from You to serve others (1 Peter 4:10).
Lord Jesus, may our love for one another at ECB be sincere. Keep us from being superficial and uncaring, but teach us by Your Spirit to be devoted to one another in brotherly love and to truly honour one another (Romans 12:9-10).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
O God, You who holds all things together, and the nations in Your hand; You who in Your sovereignty has placed me here, in Bangkok, at this time in history; whose plans and ways are perfect – I submit to You. Your will is that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance, and in accordance with Your will, I ask that this would be so among us. May we, the church called ECB grow through new converts. May the Gospel be presented to the lost among us with power, the Holy Spirit and deep conviction, not only through words, but by our very lives. Teach us to make the most of every opportunity that we might constantly spread everywhere the fragrance of Christ. And allow us I pray, allow me, to be part of end-time harvest, that Jesus, the Lamb, might receive the reward for His suffering. I ask all of this in His mighty name. Amen (Colossians 1:17; Isaiah 46:11; James 4:7; 2 Peter 3:9; Acts 2:47; 1 Thessalonians 1:5; Colossians 4:5; 2 Corinthians 2:15).
Father, give to each of us a fresh understanding of the reason that we are here in Bangkok. Increase our determination to invest in the work of Your Kingdom.

Thursday
May we be increasingly aware of the cunning schemes of the evil one. May we be wise and aware every time we turn on our computers or TVs and as we walk the streets of Bangkok. May we truly hate all that is evil and run to, cling to, everything that is good! May our eyes be fixed on Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:11; 11:3; Hebrews 12:2; Romans 12:17)!
May we, from youngest to oldest become those who do not just hear the Word, but be those who do what it says (James 1:22).
Father, I lift up our pastors to you and I pray that their zeal for You will increase. Accomplish in them and through them all that You have called them to do. May they not lean on their own understanding, but increasingly acknowledge You in all their ways. Make their path straight before them I pray (Romans 12:11; I Thessalonians 5:24; Proverbs 3:5-6).

Friday
Father, I ask that as a community of faith we will be found worthy of Your calling on our lives, and empowered to fulfil every good purpose and every act prompted by faith. May this be accomplished among us, so that the Lord Jesus may be glorified in us (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).
Ask God to energize us by His Spirit, that we might not be lethargic or overwhelmed in engaging the communities around us. Pray that we will increasingly be counter-cultural, radical followers of Jesus Christ. Ask God to give us every place that we set our feet for the sake of the Gospel (Joshua 1:3)!
Pray that those presenting the Gospel through the ministries of ECB and in the nation of Thailand would do so fearlessly, and be given the words to speak by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 6:19) (Ask God for spiritual harvest).

Saturday
As we gather as Your people each Sunday, may the walls of ECB resound with the praise of Your great name! May strongholds of unbelief and doubt be broken, and may there be salvation in Your house! Lead those who are searching, to salvation through Jesus.
Lord Jesus, I ask that You raise up from among us, those to minister to our children and youth, lead LIFE groups, practice hospitality. Raise up musicians, worship leaders and teachers. May there be no lack among us! Release the gifts of the Spirit in even greater measure I pray.
As we gather together tomorrow for House of Prayer, strengthen us and lead us by the Holy Spirit to pray in unity. Build us into a true house of prayer for all nations.
Anoint Your Word tomorrow Lord, and give Your Church ears to hear what You would say to us (Revelation 2:29).
Prepare my heart today, Holy Spirit, for all that You have for me as I worship with Your people tomorrow. Change me and make me more like Jesus.
… I commit all these things to You Father, for You alone can accomplish what man cannot do. You alone are able, and I put my hope in Your great name. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
