Prayer Guide 06 February 2022

Sunday

This prayer tool is meant to be used daily to help in teaching us to pray
the Word of God for ourselves, our fellowship and the world for which Jesus died.
As you begin, ask of Jesus the same thing that the disciples did –
“Lord, teach me to pray…”
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the power and authority of Your Word!

This day, I confess that Your Word is living and active. It is sharper than a sword and digs deep. As I submit to Your Word, it exposes the thoughts and attitudes of my heart, leaving nothing hidden from You.

I choose now, O God, to submit to Your Word.

It is written, that because of my faith in Jesus Christ, I have been given a living hope through His resurrection from the dead! Holy Spirit, reveal to me I pray, those areas of my living where I’ve turned from the hope that has been given to me through the Gospel of Jesus, and have allowed instead, unbelief, hopelessness, even despair to define my words and actions (pause and listen, -pray further). In agreement with Your Word, I turn from faithlessness and choose to once again fix my eyes on Jesus, my living hope, and trust fully in Him.

It is written that I am to count myself dead to sin and not allow it to rule over me or obey its evil desires – but that I am to be alive to You, O God, in Christ Jesus! Holy Spirit, show me the ways in which I am still allowing sin to have control in my living (pause and listen – pray further). In accordance with Your Word, I turn from sin and choose the life of the Spirit.

It is written, that because I have placed my faith in Christ Jesus, I am no longer under condemnation for my sin – Jesus has set me free! Holy Spirit, show me the ways in which I live that are still defined by the accusations of the evil one instead of the freedom that is mine through Christ (pause and listen – pray further…) In accordance with Your Word, I choose to refuse the lies of the enemy, and embrace the complete love and forgiveness of Jesus!

It is written, that in my heart, I am to set apart Christ as Lord. Holy Spirit, I invite You to examine my heart and expose every area where the Lordship of Jesus is not firmly established (pause and listen –pray further…). In accordance with Your Word, I submit these to You Lord Jesus Christ and ask that You rule and reign over all that I am and all that I do!

May fresh hunger for Your Word overtake my living that my life might be marked by ever increasing submission to Your Word and its renewing work in my heart and life! In Jesus’ name I ask these things. Amen.
Hebrews 4:12-13; 1 Peter 1:3; Romans 6:11-12; Romans 8:1; 1 Peter 3:15

Monday

Father, I know that You have called us as Your people, to totally embrace life in accordance with Your Word. I ask, that as Your people, we will enter into a radical and continual renewing of our minds, that our living might be transformed, and we might be able to clearly discern Your will (John 14:15; Romans 12:1-2).

I pray Father, for those who will be leading LIFE Groups, and ask that You anoint them with the Holy Spirit that they might serve with Christlikeness. Build us into a true community of faith! As groups begin to be contacted, meet together and begin to fellowship, may Your Holy Spirit be poured out on each gathering Father!

Tuesday

Lord Jesus, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be poured out on us in even greater measure, that there would be no lack in the ministries of ECB. May all who serve do so with great joy, using what we have received from You to serve others (1 Peter 4:10).

Lord Jesus, may our love for one another at ECB be sincere. Keep us from being superficial and uncaring but teach us by Your Spirit to be devoted to one another in brotherly love and to truly honour one another (Romans 12:9-10).

Father, I ask that the Holy Spirit be poured out on our hearts, bringing dead places to life, softening hard hearts. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation!

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
May the power of the resurrection be lived out daily, in our lives Father (pause and consider what this might look like – pray into what God reveals to your heart- pray for those you know by name)!

Father, I ask that You give to us as Your people, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know You better! Open the eyes of our hearts Father (Ephesians 1:17-18) (Pray this for those you know at ECB by name)!

Father, I lift up our pastors to you and I pray that their zeal for You will increase. Accomplish in them and through them all that You have called them to do. May they not lean on their own understanding, but increasingly acknowledge You in all their ways. Make their path straight before them I pray (Romans 12:11; I Thessalonians 5:24; Proverbs 3:5-6).

Father, I pray that the children represented by our community of faith, from youngest to oldest, will become oaks of righteousness, and be preserved for the displaying of Your splendour alone. May they be strong in You I pray (Isaiah 61:3).

Thursday

Father, may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger. Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility (Ephesians 4:26; 4:2).

May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire. Smash the idols in our lives that we might love You only (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25).

May we, from youngest to oldest become those who do not just hear the Word, but be those who do what it says (James 1:22).

Father God, may we as Your people, increasingly cast all of our cares onto You and seek Your Kingdom in the way we live and righteousness in our lives (1 Peter 5:7; Matthew 6:33).

Friday

Father, I ask that as a community of faith we will be found worthy of Your calling on our lives and empowered to fulfil every good purpose and every act prompted by faith. May this be accomplished among us so that the Lord Jesus may be glorified in us (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).

I ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You, by Your Spirit, unify and strengthen my Thai brothers and sisters in this city (in this land) to be salt and light. Pour out Your Spirit on Your Church here I pray. Revive the hearts of Thai pastors and may Your Word go forth with power and anointing!

Pray for those among the ECB community who will be moving back to their home country or on to another assignment in the next few months (pray for those you know by name…). Ask God to prepare them now, for what He has in store for them then. Ask God to prepare the way before them and use them in that new place for the purposes of His Kingdom.

Saturday

As we gather as Your people each Sunday, may the walls of ECB resound with the praise of Your great name! May strongholds of unbelief and doubt be broken and may there be salvation in Your house! Lead those who are searching, to salvation through Jesus.

As we gather this Sunday, be the wall of fire around us and the glory within us I pray. May glorious praise, thanksgiving and worship be unleashed among us, and Your name and Your word exalted (Zechariah 2:5; Psalm 138:2).

Prepare my heart today Holy Spirit, for all that You have for me as I worship with Your people tomorrow. Change me and make me more like Jesus.

Father, may we as Your people be those who are willing to go out into ‘deeper water’ with You. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask for myself Lord, keep us from standing on the shore and passively listening and watching. May we enter into the life of the Spirit and the work of Your Kingdom (Luke 5:1-11)!
