Prayer Guide 20 March 2022
Sunday
Lenten Meditation
Prepare your heart for prayer with the words to the hymn below.
JESUS PAID IT ALL Elvina M. Hall 1865
I hear the Saviour say, “Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray, find in Me thine all in all.”
For nothing good have I whereby Thy grace to claim;
I’ll wash my garments white in the blood of Calvary’s Lamb.
Lord, now indeed I find Thy power, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots and melt the heart of stone.
When from my dying bed, my ransomed soul shall rise,
“Jesus died my soul to save,” Shall rend the vaulted skies.
And when before the throne I stand in Him complete,
I’ll lay my trophies down, All down at Jesus’ feet.
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
O Praise the one who paid my debt!
And raised this life up from the dead!

And raised this life up from the dead!
O Lord Jesus, my heart is full of gratitude for all that you have done for me – for the great sin-debt that You have paid on my behalf!
Yet, I confess Lord, that all too often I am like a wayward sheep, losing the sound of Your Shepherd’s voice in the midst of the noise around me, or the lure of lesser loves. Mercy, Lord. Have mercy on me, I pray. Remind me continually, I pray, of Your great sacrifice, so that regardless of the circumstances that I face, my life might overflow with praise and thanksgiving! My sin-debt has been paid in full! My future is secure! Jesus, You have paid it all!
Thank You, for Your willingness to be despised and rejected by men, for me.
To experience overwhelming sorrow and immeasurable suffering, for me.
You took up my infirmities and carried my sorrows.
You were pierced for my transgressions and crushed for my sin.
The punishment that has brought me peace was put on You,
and it’s because of Your wounds on the cross that I am healed.

Monday
Father God, capture our hearts again with the mystery and greatness of the work of Christ on the cross for our sins. May ‘first love passion’ for Jesus be restored in our fellowship – Revive us I pray (Psalm 85:6)!
May we as Your people, stand firm and let nothing move us. May we always give ourselves fully to Your work. Encourage us, remind us, that our labour for You is not in vain (Pray for those in our fellowship that you know of by name) (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Keep us from leaning on our own wisdom, but may we continually acknowledge You in all that we do. May we be found worthy of You and please You in every way and bear spiritual fruit in every good work. Strengthen us with power according to Your glorious might so that endurance and patience will increase (Colossians 1:9-11; Proverbs 3:5-6).

Tuesday
I ask Father, that all unwholesome talk, slander and gossip be put to death among us and that we would increasingly edify, bless and build one another up. May all bitterness and anger be destroyed in Jesus’ name and kindness and compassion released among us (Ephesians 4:29-32).
Strengthen us by Your Spirit to throw off everything that is hindering us - every sin that is entangling us. May our eyes be fixed on You Lord Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, I ask that You use Oasis Women’s Ministry to strengthen the faith of many and draw those who do not yet know You, to Jesus. Anoint those who teach, and may the love of Jesus be evident to all who come!
Father, I pray for those among our community of faith who are experiencing trials of many kinds. Strengthen them I pray to persevere and stand firm. As they wait on You Lord, give them I pray, signs of Your goodness to encourage them. Provide for the needs of Your people, O God, and strengthen us as we wait on You (Pray for those at ECB who are going through difficult trials).
Father, it is written that friendship with the world is hatred towards You (James 4:4). Teach us by Your Spirit, the balance of living in the world, but not belonging to the world (John 15:19) (Pause and pray for those you know of by name from ECB, that they will have hearts that long for Jesus above all else).

Thursday
Increase our faith, Father! May we as Your people, be increasingly sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see, for You have said that without faith it is impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:1, 6).
I pray for my brothers and sisters, who are trapped in their minds by the pain of hurtful memories. I pray for healing in Jesus’ name, and ask that their minds would be renewed, and their living transformed (Isaiah 61:1; Romans 12:1-2).
Father, I praise and thank You for the way that You are growing us as a community of faith. May we be increasingly unified by Your Spirit and grow in our love for one another. Empower and strengthen those who are leading our LIFE Groups – may each group be knit together by Your Spirit.

Friday
I ask in Jesus’ mighty name, that every stronghold be broken off of us, as Your people, and the fruit of the Spirit be released in greater measure. Reveal the hidden things, Father! Purify us and make us holy (Galatians 5:22-23)!
We wait in hope for You, O Lord, for You alone are our help and our shield, it’s in You that our hearts truly rejoice! We trust in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon the people of ECB Father, even as we put our hope in You (Psalm 33:20-22).
You have said, Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!

Saturday
How thankful I am, for the privilege of worshiping with brothers and sisters from many lands. May we increasingly put aside cultural preferences and be unified by the Spirit. May Your Word be our one true standard!
Father God, I pray for our pastors, and elders and deacons that as they lead us, they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven, that is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” James 3:17. Strengthen them to serve with joy (James 3:17).
Father, I ask that You build this house called ECB – we do not want to labour in vain! In Your good pleasure, make ECB prosper. May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).
