Prayer Guide 24 April 2022
Sunday
Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Father God, You have said that it is in quietness and trust in You, that the source of my strength is found, but I confess, that my life is often filled with frantic activity and noise, doubt and worry. O God, help me I pray. Have mercy on me. Remind me by Your Spirit, to take every anxious thought captive, and make it obedient to Christ, for I long for my soul to find rest in You – to be still in the midst of every situation, and be captivated with the reality that You are God. You are the One who gives me hope and calms every storm. Father, may my confidence in knowing that You are with me, increase.
Father God, Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit – This day I invite You into my ‘everyday living’:
May my heart be increasingly attentive to Your voice and ready to do Your work. I choose to submit to You, that I might truly live, and have strength to resist the evil one. I confess that Your ways and thoughts are not like my own, and I surrender my heart, mind, body and soul to You alone.
I ask that You quiet my heart, that I might learn to treasure and ponder the amazing things that You have done, and give You the glory that is due Your Name. May Your praise continually be on my lips!
Clear out the clutter of my heart and silence all distractions! May I see and hear You in new life-giving ways in the everyday-ness of my living, that my reactions might be a reflection of Your presence with me. Christ in me, the hope of glory! I ask these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Father God, Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit – This day I invite You into my ‘everyday living’:
Into my home and family, I invite You, and affirm my desire that as for me and my household, we will serve You alone. Be glorified in my family.
Into my workplace, I invite You, and affirm that it is my desire, that I work as unto You, and serve You through my vocation. Be exalted through me in my workplace.
Into my leisure and recreational times, I invite You and affirm that it is my desire to honour You, whether I eat or drink, watch TV, shop or play golf. Be glorified in every unscheduled moment.

Monday
Father, I ask that the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace increase among us. May we serve like Jesus and consider one another as more important than ourselves. May our hearts be knit together as one (Ephesians 4:3; Philippians 2:1-11).
Father, I ask in Jesus mighty name that you restore and heal broken marriages represented among us:
Father, I ask in Jesus mighty name that you restore and heal broken marriages represented among us:
May husbands truly love their wives as Jesus loved the Church and laid down His life for her.
May husbands and wives submit to one another out of reverence and love for Christ.
Pour out Your Holy Spirit on our families, strengthen marriage covenants and renew love and respect in our marriages (1 Peter 3:7; Ephesians 5:22-28)!
Tuesday
Thank You Father, for my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB and the privilege of worshiping together! May we increasingly put aside cultural preferences I pray. Unite us under the banner and cross of Christ. May the Word of God be our one true standard! Allow us I pray, the privilege of making disciples in the nations represented among us.
Lord Jesus, may Your rule and reign be established over the nations of the world. Revive Your Church worldwide. Encourage pastors, open spiritual doors that have been shut! Reveal Yourself to the peoples of the earth, that whole villages, towns and cities would come to know You!

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, show us how we can participate with you in making disciples of all nations:
Remind us continually that You have placed us here in Bangkok at this point in time for Your plans and purposes.
May we as Your people enter in with joy to all that You have for us.
May many come to Jesus through our lives and Your Church built-up and strengthened (Matthew 28:19).
Father, I ask that among us, there would not be even a hint of sexual immorality or any kind of impurity or greed. For You have said that these things are improper for us because we belong to You. Purify and strengthen our relationships I pray (Ephesians 5:3).

Thursday
Revive the hearts of Your people across this city I pray. Breathe the life of Your Spirit into dead places. Awaken Your Church in Bangkok (Ezekiel 37:4-14)!
Father God, I ask in Jesus’ name that the gifts of the Spirit be released among us, and the ECB body of Christ be built-up and edified, so that there is no lack among us (1 Corinthians 12:27).
Father, I lift up to you, those who are sick and struggling physically among us. Pour out Your healing on them I pray (Pray for those you know of by name who are sick…).

Friday
I ask Lord, that You fill us, fill me, with a fresh determination to press on – to forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead (Philippians 3:12-13).
Father, may we increasingly be those who give to You cheerfully. May all grace abound to us so that in all things at all times having all that we need, we might abound in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:7-8). May the light of Jesus be seen in our actions, I pray.
Ask God to grant favour to those among us who are seeking asylum and waiting on the UNHCR for interviews or to receive their refugee status. Pray that all of their needs will be met as they wait.

Saturday
I ask Lord, that You give to us ‘godly sorrow’ that brings repentance and leaves no regret:
Father, make me hungry for Your Word! Prepare the soil of my heart to receive the message that You have for me tomorrow, and may we as Your people have ears to hear what Your Spirit would say to us.
May those who lead us in worship be empowered by Your Spirit, and those who come tomorrow who do not yet know You, be drawn to You. Holy Spirit fall on us I pray!
Hem us in with Your presence O God. Be the wall of fire around us and the glory within us (Zechariah 2:5).
May we no longer make excuses for our sin (‘I was brought-up this way’, ‘My father was this way…’, ‘I’ve always been an angry person…’).
Give us the gift of brokenness, humility, and tears before You.
Increase our hunger for holiness (2 Corinthians 7:10).
