Prayer Guide 12 June 2022

Sunday

Sit quietly before the Lord. Ask Him to speak to you and show you the ‘hidden things’ in your heart that have made your walk with Him grow cold…

Father, thank You for Your great love and mercy, for Your untiring pursuit of me! Thank You, for the promise of Your Word – that You will remove my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh, so that I might follow You wholeheartedly. I long for this Father, and I submit my life to Your Lordship.

May I not grow weary in crying out to You, until Your Holy Spirit is poured out on me and the desert places – the spiritually dead places in my life become a fertile field. Restore every area of my living, O God – consume me with Your love!

Forgive me Father, for I have allowed the noise of this world to hold my attention, distract me in my pursuit of You, and deaden my heart. Revive me, I pray, O Lord (Pause and pray further).

I choose to turn from the excesses of my living (my computer use, my pursuit of wealth, my desire for comfort and entertainment…). I return to You, my first love. O God, do not remove the lamp stand of Your presence from me!

Reignite the consuming fire of Your presence in my heart, that I might be used by You for eternal purposes!

I have heard and read of Your fame and greatness, Father. I stand in awe of all You have done. But I ask for more Lord! Display Your glory through me I pray, pour out Your Spirit on me!

May streams of Living Water flow from my life, reviving and transforming every dry place. For I know, Father, that You have not called me to ‘just get by’ – to only ‘survive’ but to thrive! And so I ask, for reviving visitations of Your Spirit to fall on me, Father, that any hardened ground in my heart might be ploughed and made ready to receive all that You have for me.

More of You Lord Jesus. Less of me. This is my prayer. In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.

Monday

Father, I ask that You breathe new Spirit-life into the ECB community of faith. May revival visitations of the Holy Spirit fall on us, change us, renew us, I pray (Ezekiel 37:5)! May we not resist the Holy Spirit.

Father, I lift up our elders and pastors to you, and I ask that as they lead us, they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven, that is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” (James 3:17). Pour out Your Holy Spirit on those who lead us, that they might minister among us with great power and wisdom.

Tuesday

Father, may we be devoted to one another in brotherly love and honour one another above ourselves. May our zeal in serving You, never diminish. Strengthen those among us who have grown weary in doing what is good, encourage them I pray (Romans 12:10-11; Galatians 6:9).

Ask God to reveal to us, the ways that we come near to Him with our lips (what we say or sing in His presence), but keep our hearts far from Him (Matthew 15:8) – sit quietly and allow the Holy Spirit to show you these things…

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
May we be increasingly aware of the cunning schemes of the evil one. May we be wise and aware every time we turn on our computers or TVs, and as we walk the streets of Bangkok. May we truly hate all that is evil and run to – cling to – everything that is good! May our eyes be fixed on Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:11; 11:3; Hebrews 12:2; Romans 12:17)!

Father, You are our healer, and I come to you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who are suffering physically. May Your healing power be poured out on them, I pray. Strengthen and renew them and may all sickness be gone in Jesus’ Name (Pray for those you know of by name…).

Father, I pray for those who will be traveling in the next few months, those who will be visiting family in their home countries. May the light and presence of Jesus be seen in and through them, I pray. Go before those who are moving on to new assignments, and use them powerfully for Kingdom purposes in the new places you have for them (Pray for those you know, by name).

Thursday

Father, help us as Your people to learn to walk humbly with You. Give us the gift of tears I pray, as a sign that You are softening our hearts. Fill us with fresh passion for You, and a hunger for holiness – that we would truly become those who seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Reveal to us I pray, the things that keep us from truly drawing near to You (Psalm 119:2; Matthew 6:33).

As a community of faith, may we increasingly be those who bless with our mouths, who seek and pursue peace with one another (1 Peter 3:8-12).

May we as Your people learn the way of ‘keeping in step with Your Spirit’. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on us and make us more like Jesus I pray. Revive us Lord (Galatians 5:25)!

Friday

Renew our minds, I pray. May we, as Your people, turn from the philosophies and entertainment of the world and truly think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy – may this be the standard for what we allow into our minds and hearts (Philippians 4:8).

Father, I praise and thank You for the way that You are growing us as a community of faith. May we be increasingly unified by Your Spirit and grow in our love for one another. Empower and strengthen those who are leading our LIFE Group – may each group be knit together by Your Spirit (Pray for those you know, by name).

Saturday

Encourage and strengthen our pastors and fill them afresh with the Holy Spirit. Give them wisdom and discernment as they lead us and protect them from the evil one (James 3:17; John 17:15).

Anoint our Pastor I pray – may those who lead us in worship be empowered by Your Spirit, those who come tomorrow who do not yet know You, be drawn to You, and O God, pour out Your Holy Spirit on us! Renew us! Revive us! Change Us!

Father, I ask that Your Word would dwell in us richly – that we would overflow with Your Word. I pray, Father, that Your Word will become our only standard for our lives. Destroy the excuses that we give for our sin and conform us to the image of Jesus (Colossians 3:16; 1:19-20)!
