Prayer Guide 10 July 2022
Sunday
Before you begin, ask God to shine the light of His presence on the hidden places of your heart. Ask Him to show you where there is still darkness in your life. Confess these things to Him…
Father, You are light and in You there is no darkness at all, no shadow, nothing that diminishes Your holiness – for even the darkness is the same as light to You! Thank You, that in Jesus, You have turned my darkness into light! Forgive me, I pray, for the ways that I rationalize my sinful behaviour, for blaming others, or my situation as the reason for not living as Jesus lived. Have mercy on me, Lord. Forgive me, I pray…
Strengthen me by Your Spirit, that I might continually walk in the light as Jesus is in the light.
Your Word says that because of my position in Christ, I am in the light, and a child of the day. Father, may all evidence of night and darkness, my old self and sinful habits – any and all residual effects of sin in my life, any allegiance to idols, be crushed in Jesus’ Name. I ask that You fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit, that I might truly be a person of the Spirit, keeping in step with what the Spirit is doing, the light of Jesus shining brightly through me, – used by You for noble purposes.
Empower me this day to walk as Jesus did. In His name I pray. Amen.

May I wholeheartedly follow Christ, never walk in darkness and experience the light of life in
my daily living…
May my relationships be filled with the light of the presence of Jesus.
May the words of my mouth be an overflow of His light and love in my heart.
May my actions, the way I work, the way I serve and love and treat others be an outward expression of the inward presence of the light and life of Jesus in me!
May I be found to be blameless and pure, without fault in this crooked and depraved world, that You may be glorified in my life.
May I walk as a child of the light, that goodness and righteousness and truth might be increasingly evident in my thoughts, words and actions. Help me to long for goodness and righteousness, and weigh my decisions, actions and words accordingly.

Monday
Father, I ask that our sinful nature, with all of its passions and ungodly desires, would be truly crucified, and that we as your people be set free to serve and worship You alone. Help us, I pray, to live by the Spirit (Galatians 6:24-25)!
Father, destroy all pride among us, and replace our hearts of stone with hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 11:19). Give us the gift of brokenness and repentance before You.
Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters who are struggling with depression, anxiety and fear. I ask that they will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Destroy every stronghold – set captives free!

Tuesday
Father, remind us that we’ve been called out of darkness. Teach us what it means to ‘walk as children of light’ in the way that we conduct business, treat our spouses, serve Your Church. May our thoughts, speech and actions reflect the light of Jesus (Ephesians 5:8; 1 Peter 2:9,11).
I pray for those in our fellowship who are young in their faith and ask that You protect them from the evil one. Give them a hunger for Your Word and may they grow in godliness.

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, You are our healer and I come to you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who are suffering physically. May Your healing power be poured out on them I pray. Strengthen and renew them, and may all sickness be gone in Jesus’ Name. I pray especially for (pray for those you know of by name…)
Strengthen marriage relationships among us Lord. And may those among us who are not yet married be strengthened to remain pure.
Pour-out Your Holy Spirit on us Father and bring to life, every dead place in our hearts (Pray for those you know, by name).

Thursday
Father, You have promised to bestow on Your people the oil of gladness in place of the ‘ash piles’ of our lives (Isaiah 61:3). Many of us Lord, struggle under the memories of past hurt, abuse and loss. Heal our damaged emotions Father, restore joy and gladness to us, I pray!
May we, from youngest to oldest, become those who do not just hear the Word, but be those who do what it says (James 1:22). May we be increasingly quick and willing to obey.
Father, may the world know that we belong to You by the way that we love one another. May the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace increase in our fellowship (Ephesians 4:2-3). Help us to be completely humble and gentle with one another and to bear with one another in love (Ephesians 4:2-3).

Friday
May our times of personal and corporate worship be infused with fresh Spirit-life, I pray. Teach us to worship You in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).
Renew our minds, I pray. May we as Your people turn from the philosophies and entertainment of the world and truly think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy – may this be the standard for what we allow into our minds and hearts (Philippians 4:8).
I ask in, Jesus’ mighty name, that every stronghold of addiction be broken off of us as Your people. Reveal the hidden things, Father! Purify us and make us holy!
Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy and establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17). Father, grow us into a deeper fellowship and community through this ministry that we might be unified by Your Holy Spirit.

Saturday
Father, prepare my heart to receive the ‘seed’ of Your Word tomorrow. May Your Word go deep within me, take root and produce lasting fruit in my life. I ask this for my brothers and sisters as well, change us by Your Word!
May our lives be infused with fresh faith, holy living and confidence in You. Make us to be risk-takers for the sake of Your Kingdom!
Revive the hearts of Your people across this city, I pray. Breathe the life of Your Spirit into dead places, into dry bones, that Your Church in Bangkok may rise up as a mighty army and be true salt and light (Ezekiel 37:4-14; Zechariah 2:5)!
