Prayer Guide 21 August 2022
Sunday
“Live in the Word – in the love and infinite faithfulness of the Lord Jesus. The faith that always thanks Him – not for experiences, but for the promises on which it can rely.”

Father in heaven, how great is Your name! How awesome and unsearchable are your deeds! It is You who formed the mountains and created the wind. You turn darkness to dawn and tread the high places of the earth – the LORD God Almighty is Your name! There is none like You and I praise Your awesome name!
May Your will be accomplished on earth O God,
Forgive me I pray, for sinning against You.
Strengthen me by the Holy Spirit to be self-controlled and alert, remembering that the enemy of my soul is waiting for an opportune moment to destroy Your work in my life. Protect me from his schemes I pray.
I trust in You, Father, to accomplish Your will in me, and I proclaim with all of heaven “Great and marvellous are Your deeds – just and true are Your ways, King of the ages. Who will not fear You, O Lord, and bring glory to Your name? For You alone are holy!” Hallelujah! Praise never-ending be to You O God! Amen and Amen!
Psalm 65:5-6; Amos 4:13; Psalm 99:3; 1 John 2:15-17; Psalm 51:4; Matthew 6:9-15; 1 Peter 5:8; John 17:15; Revelation 15:3-4
May Your will be accomplished on earth O God,
in Bangkok Father,
at ECB
in my life Lord (Pause and consider…).
I submit to You and Your will and ask that as it is in heaven – where saints and angels worship and adore You and there is perfect unity, may it be so here as well. May Your Kingdom come in me Lord!
I confess that I need You more than anything else, Father.
Be my daily bread I pray.
May I feast on You until all other appetites fade,
my love of the world is destroyed and my heart is stayed on You alone.
Satisfy me Father with Your great love.
Forgive me I pray, for sinning against You.
I confess that too often my thoughts, words and actions are not Christ-like. Instead of reaching-out to others with the love of Jesus, I shrink back.
Instead of blessing, encouraging and edifying others, I keep silent.
O God have mercy on me!
Destroy my self-focused living, and change me by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
Strengthen me by the Holy Spirit to be self-controlled and alert, remembering that the enemy of my soul is waiting for an opportune moment to destroy Your work in my life. Protect me from his schemes I pray.

Monday
Father may our eyes be continually fixed on Jesus and may we walk in the freedom that He has provided for us (Hebrews 12:2; Romans 8:2). Keep us from returning to sinful patterns of behaviour.
Father, may we not only love with the words that we say, but with actions and in truth, that our hearts might be continually at rest in Your presence (1 John 3:8-9).
Father, I lift up our elders and pastors to You, and I ask that as they lead us they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven, that is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” (James 3:17).

Tuesday
Father, Your Word says that if one part of the body of Christ suffers, every part suffers. Teach us to walk alongside one another and bear each other’s burdens as a testimony of Your presence among us (1 Corinthians 12:26; Galatians 6:2).
I ask Lord, that Your perfect love would drive away all fear from our lives. I pray for my brothers and sisters who are struggling under a cloud of fear and anxiety. I ask in Jesus’ name that this heaviness be lifted. May their trust in You increase. Pour out your great love on them I pray (1 John 4:18).
May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Before you begin, pause and ask for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit. Be still and wait on the Lord….
Father, I praise Your holy name, and I confess that the kingdom and the power and the glory are Yours alone! The earth is Yours and all who live in it! You are the One True God, creator of all things, and I will worship no other. May You alone be worshiped and adored by Your people (2 Chronicles 29:10-13; Isaiah 40:28; Psalm 24:1)!
Surround us with Your favour, Lord, and establish the work of our hands for the sake of Your Kingdom (Psalm 5:12; 90:17) (Pause and pray for Crosstown Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry, Oasis Women’s Ministry, LIFE Groups and Discipleship Ministry. Ask God for spiritual fruit).
I ask that You increase our hunger and thirst for righteousness, for holiness. May we long for You more than our next meal or earthly pleasure. Strengthen us to press in deeper in prayer, that we might become those who tear down strongholds and everything that sets itself up against You Lord Jesus (Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5)!

Thursday
I ask Father, that all unwholesome talk be put to death among us and that we would increasingly bless one another. May our relationships be marked by love and forgiveness (Ephesians 4:29-32)!
Pray for those who are transitioning into Bangkok and ECB. Pray that they will quickly sense the welcome of Jesus among us and connect to community.
Pray also for those who are transitioning away from Bangkok. Ask God to go before them and strengthen them for the next step of their journey and use them as salt and light (Pray for those you know by name).
May Your Word go forth on Sunday with power and accomplish Your will among us!

Friday
Keep us from complaining Father, but instead may we become a people who learn the discipline of giving thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for us (1 Thessalonians 5:18). May praise and thanksgiving overwhelm us (Pause and thank God for all that you see Him doing among our community of faith)!
Anoint and strengthen our pastors that they might serve with joy and great encouragement by the Holy Spirit.
Father, I thank You that You are faithful, and You will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but will provide a way out. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB, those who are being tempted to turn from You and give into sin, strengthen them to stand firm! Make us to be strong in You and Your mighty power I pray (Pray for those you know of by name who are in the midst of trials and temptations) (1 Corinthians 10:13; Ephesians 6:10)!

Saturday
As we gather as Your people each Sunday, may the walls of ECB resound with the praise of Your great name! May strongholds of unbelief and doubt be broken, and may there be salvation in Your house! Lead those who are searching, to salvation through Jesus!
May we be increasingly aware of the cunning schemes of the evil one. May we be wise and aware every time we turn on our computers or TVs and as we walk the streets of Bangkok. May we truly hate all that is evil and run to, cling to, everything that is good! May our eyes be fixed on Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:11; 11:3; Hebrews 12:2; Romans 12:17)!
As we gather this Sunday, be the wall of fire around us and the glory within us I pray! May glorious praise, thanksgiving and worship be unleashed among us, and Your name and Your word exalted (Zechariah 2:5; Psalm 138:2)!
Strengthen and anoint our pastor as he brings the Word, and give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church, what you are saying to me.
