Prayer Guide 11 September 2022
Sunday
Jesus, You are the True Vine, and Heavenly Father, You are the gardener. Your Word says that You cut off every branch in You that does not bear fruit. O Lord, have mercy on me I pray, and forgive my fruitless living (Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you in what areas of your life you are not bearing spiritual fruit).
Your Word says that when spiritual fruit is born out of my life, You will prune me, so that I can bear even more fruit. Heavenly Father, I choose now to submit to Your loving hand. Increase my faith Lord, that I would increasingly ‘sow bountifully’ so that I will also reap bountifully. Make me to be a cheerful giver in all things – my time, resources and spiritual gifts, knowing that You provide for all that I need for life and godliness. And so I now ask:
Like Abraham, may I not hold anything back, but firmly trust in Your character and Your promises. May more of Jesus be seen in me, and less of myself. May I not go after worthless things, but instead Father, teach me the secret of abiding in You, that I might bear fruit in every good work and grow in my knowledge of You.
Like a tree that is planted by streams of water, may I plant myself next to You, the Living Water, so that I will always bear fruit regardless of changing seasons. Even in my old age, may I still be spiritually fresh and green – alive in You (Pause and recommit yourself to follow hard after Jesus all the days of your life)!
Thank You for choosing me to bear lasting, spiritual fruit. Empower me by Your Spirit I pray, to remain faithful to Your calling, and not give up.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

that the fruit of righteousness increase in my life (Pause and ask the Holy Spirit to show you areas of your life where righteousness should increase. Commit them to the Lord).
that my hunger for Your Word grow and Your Word dwell in me richly (Lay before the Lord the time you spend in His Word, or the lack thereof, and ask for greater desire for, insight and understanding of His Word).
that my desire for holiness would affect my daily living (Pause and ask for strength to stand against temptation. Confess areas of sin and ask for forgiveness).
that as I seek Your Kingdom first, You add to my life all I need (Bring your personal needs before the Father and ask for His provision in each circumstance).

Monday
Father, may we be strong in You and in Your mighty power, and not put confidence in our own strength. May each of us, daily wear the full armour that You have provided – may we ‘put on’ Jesus! Remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, and strengthen us to stand firm. Teach us to pray continually (Ephesians 6:10-18) (Pause and pray for those you know at ECB by name. Ask God to strengthen them this day to stand firm).
Tuesday
Increase our faith, Father! May we as Your people be increasingly sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see, for You have said, that without faith, it is impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:1, 6).
Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters who are weary and discouraged, those who are being tempted to turn away from You. I ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in fresh and powerful ways that draw them back into Your embrace. Strengthen them by Your Spirit, to throw off everything that might be hindering them, and any and every sin that is entangling them. May their eyes once again be fixed on You alone, Lord Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Strengthen us in prayer, Father. Teach us by the Spirit, how to pray and never give up.
I pray that no unwholesome talk would be heard among us, but only what is helpful for building each other up. May our relationships be marked by forgiveness (Ephesians 4:29-32)!
Forgive us, for the ways that we have trusted in other things, and looked in other places for comfort and security (relationships, job security, finances, governments) rather than trusting in You (Psalm 20:7) (Pause and be still before the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to reveal the places in your life where you are depending on something other than God, confess these to Jesus).
Father, we agree with Your Word – the earth is Yours, everything in it belongs to You – the world and all who live in it! You are Lord of all! Help us to live our lives in light of this truth (Psalm 24:1) (Pause and consider what this might look like in your daily living. Pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB that they will more readily bow to the Lordship of Jesus).

Thursday
Continually remind us, Father, that sharing with others is a pleasing sacrifice to You. May we be outwardly focused so we don’t become self-absorbed, but enable us by Your Spirit, to extend mercy to people in every kind of need – especially in the nation right now (Hebrews 13:16; Philippians 2:4; Jude 22-23).
Father, I ask in the mighty name of Jesus, that You, by Your Spirit, unify and strengthen my Thai brothers and sisters in this land to be salt and light. Pour out Your Spirit on Your Church here, I pray. Revive the hearts of Thai pastors, and may Your Word go forth with power! May Your Church in this city, rise up as one voice, proclaiming Your greatness and glory, that righteousness might flow through the streets and Jesus be exalted. I pray in His Name. Amen.

Friday
I ask in Jesus’ mighty name, that every stronghold be broken off of us, as Your people, and the fruit of the Spirit be released in greater measure (Galatians 5:22-23). Reveal the hidden things, Father! Purify us, and make us holy!
Father, may we as Your people, always acknowledge and take to heart that You are God in heaven above and on the earth below – that there is no other. Help us to acknowledge You in all that we do (Deuteronomy 4:39; Proverbs 3:5-6).
Forgive us Father, for the ways that we follow You half-heartedly. May we become those who love You with all of our hearts, all of our souls and strength (Deuteronomy 6:4).

Saturday
Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray! Make our hearts ready for the seed of Your Word, and may each of us come before you with songs of thanksgiving and joy! Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather, and change us into a people that is conformed to the image of Jesus!
Father, I ask that those who come to ECB seeking answers about who You are and what it means to follow Jesus, will be drawn by the Holy Spirit to salvation. May each of us extend the welcome of Jesus to those around us and may Jesus be so seen among us, that many will come to faith in Him. May there be salvation in Your house each week!
Father may the light of Your face shine upon us – surround us with Your favour, as a shield (Psalm 4:6; 5:12).
