Prayer Guide 09 October 2022
Sunday
Our Father in heaven, Your name is holy. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth – in my life, as it is accomplished in heaven! For Your ways are perfect and Your plans stand firm forever! I acknowledge that as You have planned, so it will be! As You have purposed so it will stand! And so I ask Father, teach me to do Your will (Pause and submit to knowing and doing the will of God).
Forgive me for praying that Your will be done in my life and situations, and then being upset or even angry when my requests are not answered according to my liking. Forgive my selfish pride, arrogance and lack of humility. Forgive me for saying with my mouth that ‘I submit to You’, yet harbouring attitudes in my heart of control and rebellion. Have mercy on me Lord, and break my stubborn will (Continue to pray as led by the Holy Spirit).
May I obey You quickly Father, and always choose what is right according to Your Word (Pause and ask the Holy Spirit to give you ears that hear His voice and a heart that responds. Commit yourself again to study and know the Word of God).
May I do Your will with all of my heart, without reservation, and with great joy (Pause and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of your life where you are only partially obeying. Ask for increased joy as you determine to obey fully).
May I increasingly do Your will without question or complaint, for I confess that You do things that are beyond my ability to understand. You are God. I am not (Pause and cast your concerns onto Jesus. In each instance pray, “Your will be done”).
Renew my mind and heart by the power of Your Word. May Your Word come alive in me I pray, for it is written that Your Word will accomplish all that You desire and the purposes for which You send it. Make me like Jesus I pray.
Lord Jesus, You said that those who love You, obey You. And so I ask, that my everyday living, especially who I am and what I do when no one is watching, might be increasingly characterized by loving obedience. You have done so much for me, help me to do Your will with great love and serve You faithfully.
Yes O God, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done this day, in and through me, for I ask these things in Jesus’ great name. Amen.

Monday
Open the doors of our hearts, Father, and remove every obstacle that keeps us from acknowledging our sin before You and entering into deeper relationship with You (Psalm 66:16-20).
May we as Your people, stand firm and let nothing move us. May we always give ourselves fully to Your work. Encourage us, remind us, that our labour for You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) (Pray for those in our fellowship that you know of by name).
Revive and restore every faltering heart. I pray for my brothers and sisters who are wandering in their faith journey, who are weary or confused or have somehow lost their way. Restore the joy of their salvation to them I pray! Call them back (Psalm 80: 18-19; 51:12).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
We praise You Father, for all the things that You have done among us – it is marvellous in our eyes! May we become a people who increasingly learn the discipline of giving thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for us. May praise and thanksgiving overwhelm us (Psalm 118:23; 1 Thessalonians 5:18) (Pause and thank God for all that you see Him doing among our community of faith)!
Father I ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that we, Your people
Father I ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that we, Your people
would be equipped with everything good for doing Your will,
that Jesus might be glorified among us in all of His greatness (Hebrews 13:20).
Strengthen us by Your Spirit to walk in Your ways – make us to be like Jesus,
and give each of us a willing spirit that we might submit to You
(Psalm 51:12) (Pray for those you know, by name).
Thursday
Father, may we be faithful in declaring Your greatness and power to the next generation. Forgive us for being silent or intimidated. Open our mouths that we might always recount Your goodness to those around us (Psalm 71:17-18; 78:4-6)!
May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire. Smash the idols in our lives that we might love You only (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25).
Remember us, O God, that we are Your people – the people of Your pasture and the flock under Your care. Gather us in Your arms and carry us close to Your heart, I pray (Psalm 95:7; Isaiah 40:11) (Pause and pray for those among us who need to receive the embrace of their heavenly Father).
Father, capture our hearts again with the mystery and greatness of the work of Christ on the cross for our sins. May ‘first love passion’ for Jesus be restored in our fellowship – Revive us I pray (Psalm 85:6)!

Friday
Father, I pray for those among us who are feeling weak, or are in need and ask that You rescue them and encourage them. May we as the body of Christ, minister in love to those around us who are struggling (Psalm 82:3-4).
Lord Jesus, You are the Word made flesh, the living Word of God. May we live our lives in submission to You. As Your people, may Your Word be our only true standard for living. Give to each of us a fresh hunger for Your Word
(John 1:14; Hebrews 4:12)!
Protect and strengthen marriage relationships in our fellowships Father. May husbands and wives live-out the love of Jesus in their homes and consider one another’s needs more important than their own (Philippians 2:1-4).

Heavenly Father, anoint those who are teaching Adult Discipleship classes, Oasis classes, Crosstown Children’s ministry, and Student classes. May lasting, eternal fruit be born out of these ministries, and strong disciples of Jesus produced!
May Your Word go forth with power and anointing by the Holy Spirit and accomplish all that you intend. Give us ears to hear what the Spirit would say to Your Church.
Make our hearts ready to receive the Word. Make my heart ready to hear and obey (Pause and commit yourself to receive the Word, and do what it says)!
