Prayer Guide 16 October 2022
Sunday
Our Father in heaven, Your name is Holy. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth – in my life, as it is accomplished in heaven! Give us today, all that we need from Your hand – for this life, and for godliness. You are my provider. All that I need is found in You alone.
It is written that I should not fear, for You are with me, or be dismayed, because You are my God and I rest secure in You. Therefore, this day, I choose to turn from worry and anxiety and trust in You to provide for my every need (Pause and reaffirm your trust in Him and His provision for all that you need).
I choose this day to look around me at all that You have created and Your provision for all living things. The miracle of food coming forth from the earth from the tiniest seed, rain from heaven that causes things to grow, all things beautiful that point the hearts of men to You, even the birds of the air and the flowers of the field, You provide for all things, great and small. You will provide for me.
Thank You Father, that You know all that I need. But this I ask, give me wisdom that I might discern between what are truly needs, and what are my own fleshly desires. May godliness and contentment increase in my life as well as submission to Your will. Like the Apostle Paul, teach me to be content regardless of my circumstances – whether I find myself in a place of plenty or of great want. May I learn the secret that I can do everything through Jesus who gives me strength.
This day, I reaffirm that You, Who knows the very number of hairs on my head, also knows my every need. You hear every cry of my heart, Father, before I even call out to You (Present your needs to the Lord. Ask for His provision).
You are my God. I will trust in You and put my hope in Your great name. I will watch and wait in expectation for You, O Lord, for You have heard me and You will answer.
In Jesus’ great name I pray, believing. Amen.

Monday
We wait in hope for You, O Lord, for You alone are our help and our shield, it’s in You that our hearts truly rejoice! We trust in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon the people of ECB Father, as we put our hope in You (Psalm 33:20-22).
May we, as Your people, stand firm and let nothing move us. May we always give ourselves fully to Your work. Encourage us, remind us, that our labour for You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) (Pray for those in our fellowship that you know of by name).
Father, I praise and thank You for the way that You are growing us as a community of faith. May we be increasingly unified by Your Spirit and grow in our love for one another.

Tuesday
Father, may we be strong in You and in Your mighty power, and not put confidence in our own strength. May each of us daily wear the full armour that You have provided – may we ‘put on’ Jesus! Remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood-strengthen us to stand firm. Teach us to pray continually (Ephesians 6:10-18).
I ask Father, that all unwholesome talk, slander and gossip be put to death among us and that we would increasingly edify and bless one another. May our relationships be marked by love and forgiveness (Ephesians 4:29-32)!
Increase our faith, Father! May we as Your people be increasingly sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see, for You have said that without faith it is impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:1, 6).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, as I join with my brothers and sisters in fasting today, I ask that You increase our hunger and thirst for righteousness, for holiness. May we long for You, more than our next meal or earthly pleasure. Strengthen us to press in deeper in prayer, that we might become those who teardown strongholds and everything that sets itself up against the knowledge of Christ Jesus (Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5)!
Father, I pray for those among our community of faith who are experiencing trials of many kinds. Strengthen them, I pray, to persevere and stand firm (Pray for those at ECB who are going through difficult trials).
I ask Father, for fresh outpourings of the Holy Spirit on Your people, that our lives would be marked by brokenness and repentance, submission to Your will, and hunger for holiness and Your Word. Fill us afresh with the Holy Spirit!
Anoint and strengthen our pastors that they might serve with joy and great encouragement by the Holy Spirit.

Thursday
Pray the following from the Word of God for Pastors, Missionaries, Christian workers who you know by name (In your home country, in Thailand, here at ECB).
- Acceptance – Pray that those proclaiming the Gospel will be accepted not only by unbelievers, but by other believers, with whom they may be partnering toward the common goal. “Pray… that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there.” Romans 15:31
- Boldness – Pray that they will have courage in presenting the Gospel. “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” Ephesians 6:19
- Clarity – Pray that those proclaiming the Gospel in a new language, would be given unusual clarity to their speech by the Holy Spirit. “Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” Colossians 4:4
- Deliverance – Pray that ministers of the Gospel would be free of the attack of the enemy. Pray for their protection from physical, emotional and spiritual harm as they serve Christ in a different culture. “Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea.” Romans 15:31
- Extension – Pray that their ministry would be extended beyond its current boundaries. “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.” Colossians 4:3
- Fruitfulness – Pray that their presentation of the Gospel would not return void and that spiritual harvest would increase! “Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1
Friday
Keep us from leaning on our own wisdom, but may we continually acknowledge You in all that we do. May we be found worthy of You and please You in every way and bear spiritual fruit (Colossians 1:9-11; Proverbs 3:5-6).
Lord Jesus help us to abide in You that it might be evident that we are truly Your disciples (John 15:5-8).
Father God, I pray for those who lead us and ask that they be given “wisdom that is from heaven, and is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” (James 3:17).

Saturday
Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart I pray! Make our hearts ready for the seed of Your Word and may each of us come before you with songs of thanksgiving and joy!
Father, in Your good pleasure, make ECB prosper. May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).
May we not come near to You tomorrow with our mouths, but keep our hearts from You (Isaiah 29:13). May the words that we pronounce and sing to You be true expressions of love and adoration from our hearts. Receive the glory that is due Your great name (Psalm 29:2)!
