Prayer Guide 23 October 2022
Sunday
Before you begin, spend a few moments thanking God for His forgiveness, mercy and love. Thank Him for Jesus and sin-debt that He paid for you on the cross.
Father, how I thank You and praise You for Your great love expressed to me through Jesus Christ. You are merciful and forgiving, O LORD! Thank You Jesus for dying for my sins, You the Righteous One, laying down Your life for me, that I might have fellowship with God the Father! Thank You for removing my sin from me as far as the east is from the west, and remembering them no more! I deserve death, but You have given me eternal life. I deserve punishment, but You give me Your robe of righteousness and embrace me as Your child. I thank You and praise You for Your great mercy, grace and love (Pause and remember Your salvation experience. Thank God for saving you out of darkness and welcoming you into His kingdom of light)!
Lord Jesus, in light of Your great forgiveness and acceptance of me, I ask that You would strengthen me to offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me. In the same way that You have forgiven my sin-debt, may I also forgive those who have sinned against me. I ask Lord, that kindness and compassion for those around me increase, that my life might be increasingly marked by forgiveness that I might pray with a clear conscience ‘forgive me my debts as I have forgiven my debtors.’
I ask that You give me love for my enemies Father.
(Pray for those you know of by name)
Give me Your heart for those who hate me, that I might do good to them.
(Pray for those you know of by name)
May words of blessing be on my lips for those who speak unkindly to me.
(Pray for those you know of by name)
Father, in obedience to Your Word, I choose to pray for those who mistreat me.
(Pray for those you know of by name)
This day Father, I put-off all bitterness, rage and anger, slander and every form of malice, and choose instead to offer the love and forgiveness of Christ to those who sin against me. May I increasingly forgive others as You have forgiven me (Pause and continue to pray as led by the Holy Spirit)!
I ask all this in the name of Jesus, who died in order to present me to You, forgiven. Amen.

Monday
We wait in hope for You, O Lord, for You alone are our help and our shield, it’s in You that our hearts truly rejoice! We trust in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon the people of ECB Father, as we put our hope in You (Psalm 33:20-22).
Father, I pray that we Your people, will stand firm and allow nothing to move us from our faith in You. May we be found always giving ourselves fully to Your work. Remind us continually that what we do for You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58)!
Strengthen us to forgive, to turn from bitterness and anger and receive Your healing.

Tuesday
Increase our faith, Father! May we as Your people, be increasingly sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see, for You have said that without faith it is impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:1, 6).
Father, I pray for our LIFE Groups leaders, and ask that You empower and anoint them by Your Holy Spirit. Raise up more leaders, and may all of our groups soon multiply! Grow us Lord into a deeper fellowship and community through this ministry that we might be unified by Your Holy Spirit.
Help us Father, to be radical in the way that we pursue You. Give to each of us an insatiable hunger for Your Word and holiness.

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
I pray for my brothers and sisters who are struggling with unforgiveness, and ask that they be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to submit to You, so that they are able to resist the evil one (James 4:7). May we increasingly forgive others as we’ve been forgiven!
Lord Jesus, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be poured out on us in even greater measure, that there would be no lack in the ministries of ECB. May all who serve do so with great joy, using what we have received from You to serve others (1 Peter 4:10).
Revive and restore every faltering heart. I pray for my brothers and sisters who are ‘wandering’ in their faith journey, who are weary or confused or have somehow lost their way. Restore the joy of their salvation to them I pray! Call them back (Psalm 80: 18-19; 51:12).
Father, may Your favour rest on our church community – establish the kingdom work of our hands I pray (Psalm 90:17)!

Thursday
Father, I pray that love would grow more and more among us –that we will have greater knowledge and insight, and be discerning regarding what is best. May we be increasingly pure and blameless, and filled with the fruit of righteousness in ever increasing measure until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:9-11).
Father, I pray for those among us with unbelieving spouses or prodigal children. Encourage them by Your Spirit I pray, as they wait for them to come to You. May Jesus be seen in them in such a compelling way, that their loved-ones turn to You (Pray for those you know by name).
Lord Jesus, I ask that Your healing power rest upon those among us who are struggling physically. May sickness and disease be gone in Your mighty name (Pray for those you know of by name)!
May we be careful, Father, to lead lives that are blameless and walk in integrity, not setting anything wicked before our eyes (Psalm 101:2-3).

Friday
May we increasingly hunger and thirst for righteousness, Lord, and be satisfied in You. Destroy the love of the things of this world in us (Matthew 5:6)!
Father, may we act increasingly just in all of our actions and interactions with others. Increase our love of mercy and empower us by Your Holy Spirit to walk humbly with You (Micah 6:8).
Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters who are walking through a valley of darkness right now and feel that they have no light. May they trust in Your name, O Lord and rely upon You (Isaiah 50:10).

Saturday
Father, I lift up our pastors to you (René Dekker, Kevin Moua, Steve Odera, Pablo Morales). May Your favour rest on them and the work of their hands be firmly established (Psalm 90:17). Accomplish in them and through them all that You have called them to do. Make their path straight before them I pray and encourage them by Your Spirit (Romans 12:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:24; Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and ask that You strengthen us by Your Spirit to obey Your Word. Give us a hunger for holiness, for You and Your Word. May we become strong in You and the power of Your might – radical followers of Jesus, dressed in the armour You have provided (Ephesians 6:10-18)!
May we, Your people, have ears to hear what the Spirit would say to Your Church.
