Prayer Guide 04 December 2022

Sunday

Before you begin, meditate on this thought: God has chosen to work through me.

Father, how I thank You that because I have put my faith and trust in Christ, He has made me a new creation! My relationship with You has been made right, and because of His finished work on the cross You do not hold my sin against me! Hallelujah (Pause and rejoice! Jesus has saved you from your sin)!

Now Father, I ask that You help me to understand what it means that in Christ You have given me the message of reconciliation – that Jesus might be made known through me. May I be found worthy of the name ‘Ambassador of Christ’ and faithfully implore others to be reconciled to You.

I ask that You capture my heart again with the joy of my salvation in You, and open my lips that I might praise You and proclaim the Gospel message. You are the God of all hope, and I ask that I would continually be prepared to give the reason for the hope that I have in You. May Jesus be seen and heard through me I pray.

This day I ask You

Wonderful Counsellor, that You open my heart and mind and give me ears to hear what You would say to me, what You would speak through me. Make me increasingly sensitive to Your voice and gentle promptings, and give me a willing, submissive spirit that I might obey.

Mighty God, may Your power be evident through the way I live and conduct my life, that I would truly live and move and have my very being in You alone.

Everlasting Father may Your embrace and great love be expressed through my life to the hurting world around me. May Jesus be seen through me in such loving ways that many are drawn to Him.

Prince of Peace, in the midst of this chaotic fearful world, may the peace of Christ be spread through my life. Increase my trust and hope in You, that

I in turn might minister to those around me who are as sheep without a shepherd.

Give me Your heart. Your eyes. Your ears, O Lord, that in all things I might respond as Jesus would, and be a worthy ambassador of the Gospel.

In the name of Jesus, Emmanuel, I pray. Amen.

Monday

Father, may our eyes be continually fixed on Jesus and may we walk in the freedom that He has provided for us. Keep us from returning to sinful patterns of behavior (Hebrews 12:2; Romans 8:2).

Father, Your Word says that if one part of the body of Christ suffers, every part suffers. Teach us to walk alongside one another and bear each other’s burdens as a testimony of Your presence among us. I pray especially for those in our fellowship who are suffering physically (1 Corinthians 12:26; Galatians 6:2) (Pray for those you know of by name).

Tuesday

Strengthen marriage relationships among us, Lord. And may those among us who are not yet married be strengthened to remain pure.

Strengthen us Father, and bless us with the peace of Christ. In the midst of this tumultuous world, may our lives be centered on Jesus (Psalm 29:11).

Father, destroy all pride among us and replace our hearts of stone with hearts of flesh. Give us the gift of brokenness and repentance before You (Ezekiel 11:19).

Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy and establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17)!

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, Your Word says that You are looking throughout the earth for those whose hearts are fully committed to You, to strengthen them. Oh how I long for us to be fully committed people! Purge all lesser loves from our lives I pray, and may revival visitation of the Holy Spirit fall on us that first-love passion for Jesus might be renewed in each of us. Revive us Father (2 Chronicles 16:9; Psalm 85:6)!

May the Holy Spirit be poured out on us as we gather as Your people this Sunday, anointing You Word and empowering those who lead us in worship.

May we enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise! You are worthy (Psalm 100)!

Pour out Your Holy Spirit on our pastors, elders and deacons that they might minister among us with great power and wisdom.

Father, may we not only love with the words that we say, but with actions and in truth (1 John 3:8-9).

Thursday

Father, I ask that the peace of Christ, which is beyond our ability to understand, would guard our hearts and minds. Free us from worry, fear and anxiety. Teach us to truly rest in You – to trust in You (Philippians 4:7; Isaiah 30:15).

Father, I pray for the children in our congregation and ask that they will not be hindered in coming to You in any way. Father may our hearts be filled with childlike wonder at the miracle of Your coming! Give to each of us the faith of a child (Luke 18:16-17).

Lord Jesus, help us to abide in You, that we as Your people might bear spiritual fruit and by doing so, show that we are truly Your disciples. Allow us I pray, to see harvest come in, and souls come to know Jesus (John 15:5-8)!

Pray for Northeast Thailand, where there is the least Gospel influence. Ask God to raise up labourers to enter this harvest field. Pray that existing churches will be revived by the Spirit and grow.

Friday

Father, may we like Mary, learn to sit at Your feet and not worry about the many things in our lives that press in around us. May we be strengthened to choose the ‘better way’ of intimate fellowship with You (Luke 10:41-42).

You have said Lord, that You will give the Holly Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!

Father, make us to be fearless followers of Jesus – more than conquerors because of His love for us (Romans 8:37)!

Revive the hearts of Your people across this city, I pray. May Your Church in Bangkok rise up as loving Gospel Ambassadors (Ezekiel 37:4-14; Zechariah 2:5)!

Saturday

Father, endurance and encouragement come from You. As we follow Christ Jesus together as a community of faith, may the spirit of unity among us increase (Romans 15:5 ).

May each of us come before you tomorrow with songs of thanksgiving and joy! Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather and change us into a people that is conformed to the image of Jesus!

May those who come tomorrow who do not yet know You, be drawn to You, and O God, pour out Your Holy Spirit on us! Renew us! Revive us! Change Us!
