Prayer Guide 08 January 2023

Sunday

Lord God, as I come before You, I am overwhelmed by the amazing privilege of being in Your presence. Thank You Lord Jesus, for Your finished work on the cross that forever tore the veil that was between me and God the Father, and gave me access as a child of God into His very throne room! Thank You Lord!

Father, this day, I bring You my heart and pray as Moses did, asking that Your favour rest upon my life and Your presence go before me. Even as I pray this Lord, I am aware that You call me to walk in Your way not my own, if I am going to experience Your blessing and presence in my life. I choose this moment, to submit once again to You – Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in my life – as it is in heaven, may it be so. (Pause and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of your life that you have not yet submitted to God. Pray through these things and commit yourself once again to walk in obedience)

And so Father I pray,

Teach me Your ways that I may know You more, for I confess that Your ways are perfect and Your Word is flawless, and it is by living according to Your Word that the path of my life is kept pure. Teach me O God.

Guide me in the way of Your wisdom that in every step that I take, I might be increasingly discerning of Your voice whispering in my heart ‘this is the way that you should go.’ Speak to me O God, for I am listening. (Pause and wait on the Lord, listen for His voice)

Give me a deeper understanding of Your Word, Father, that I might keep it and obey it with all of my heart.
Holy Spirit lead me and guide me into all truth. (Pause and commit yourself to the study of the Word of God)

Give me joy in obedience I pray. And may all that I do be motivated by my love for You.

And yes, Father – surround me with Your favour as if it were a shield, for I take refuge in You and commit myself to follow in Your ways. In thought, speech and action, be glorified in me and through me. May Jesus be exalted and His name made known – for He alone is worthy! And I pray in His Great Name. Amen.

Monday

May we be increasingly aware of the cunning schemes of the evil one. May we be wise and aware every time we turn on our computers or TVs and as we walk the streets of Bangkok. May we truly hate all that is evil and run to, cling to, everything that is good! May our eyes be fixed on Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:11; 11:3; Hebrews 12:2; Romans 12:17)!

Father, I ask that we as Your people, will increasingly choose to put off the old self and be made new in the attitude of our minds – that we might be like You in righteousness and holiness – increase our hunger for You (Ephesians 4:22-23)!

As Your dearly loved children, Father, may we imitate You and live a life of love (Ephesians 5:1).

Tuesday

Father, I pray for all who will be participating in prayer and fasting on behalf of our faith community. Strengthen my brothers and sisters to stand firm. Teach us, as Your people, what it means to pray and never give up. (Luke 18:1) May we become a people of prayer and great faith.

Holy Spirit, keep us from unwholesome talk, obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, but instead may we increasingly be those who build each other up as we speak to one another (Ephesians 4:29; 5:4).

Father, it is written that it is improper for Your people to engage in sexual immorality, any kind of impurity or greed, and so I ask in Jesus’ name that all deeds of darkness be crushed in our lives (Ephesians 5:3-5).  May we walk in the light of Your presence!

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
Before you begin, pause and quiet your heart. Be still and wait on the Lord…

Lord Jesus, as the disciples asked You, so do I this day, ‘Lord teach me to pray’. Teach me to pray and not give up, to press-in to You and pray for Kingdom things! Teach the ECB community of faith these things – teach us how to persevere in prayer (Luke 11:1, 18:1)!

This day Holy Spirit, strengthen my brothers and sisters to pray and fast, and use us to remove the obstacles out of the way of Your people-everything that keeps us from following hard after You (Luke 11:1; Isaiah 57:14)!

Teach us Your ways, Father, so that we may know You more and find favour with You! In our hearts may Christ be set apart as LORD of everything (Exodus 33:13; 1 Peter 3:15).

Grow and strengthen our LIFE Groups Father – unify us by the Spirit as we gather this week in homes across the city.  Grow each group to the point of multiplying that the blessing of community might spread (Pray for our LIFE Groups and LIFE Group leaders by name)

Thursday

Father, I praise Your holy name and I confess that the Kingdom and the power and the glory are Yours alone! The earth is Yours and all who live in it! You are the One True God, creator of all things, and I will worship no other. May You alone be worshiped and adored by Your people (2 Chronicles 29:10-13; Isaiah 40:28; Psalm 24:1)!

Pour out the Holy Spirit on churches across Bangkok. Revive Your Church in this place, Lord! For the sake of Your Great Name, and the millions in this nation who are lost without You – revive Your Church, I pray! May joyful praise be heard across the city, and among us! Receive the glory due Your Name!

Strengthen us by the Holy Spirit to live as children of light, I pray. May the fruit of the light of Your presence – goodness, righteousness and truth, be increasingly evident in our lives (Ephesians 5:8-9)!

Friday

Thank You Father, for Your great love for us, for making us alive with Christ, for raising us up with Him in heavenly realms! Thank You for the new identity that we have because of Him. May we, as Your people, walk in His authority (Ephesians 1:19-23; 2:5-6).

Surround us with Your favour, Lord, and establish the work of our hands for the sake of Your Kingdom (Psalm 5:12; 90:17). (Pause and pray for Crosstown Children’s Ministry, Student’s Ministry, Adult Discipleship, Oasis Women’s Ministry, Adelphoi Men’s Ministry, Prayer Team, and LIFE Group Ministry. Ask God for spiritual fruit. Pray for those you know of by name from ECB. Ask God to pour out the Holy Spirit on them and give them ‘kingdom impact’ in their sphere of influence).

Father, strengthen us with power through the Holy Spirit in our inner beings. Root us and establish us in the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:16-17)!

Saturday

May we become the kind of worshipers that You are seeking – those who worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).

May glorious praise, thanksgiving and worship be unleashed among us as we gather together tomorrow, and Your Name and Your Word exalted (Psalm 138:2)!

It is written, Lord, that Your Word is like fire, and like a hammer that breaks rock to pieces – may it be so among us! Destroy the hard places of our hearts with the power of Your Word! Give us the gift of brokenness and repentance I pray (Jeremiah 23:29).
