Prayer Guide 29 January 2023
Sunday
Father, how thankful I am, that even when I am faithless, You are faithful, You never change, You cannot deny Yourself. Forgive me Lord, for I confess that more often than not, my eyes are on the storm around me, rather than fixed on Your face, and I begin to drown in my circumstances, my faith giving way to doubt and unbelief. (Even now Lord I bring before You these things that are overwhelming to me…)
I long, Lord Jesus, to move from following You in safe obedience, to sacrifice and risk, but I confess that my faith is often weak, and so I ask – increase my faith, Lord! I ask that my walk with You might be characterized by risky, determined faith – never looking back. By Your Spirit, strengthen me that my confidence might be in You alone. Help me to persevere.
Destroy the fear of man in me, for I confess that my reputation, what others might think of me (or not think of me), is often more important to me than fulfilling Your purposes and doing Your will. (Pause and consider these words and pray further…)
I repent, Lord Jesus, of creating for myself a comfortable faith that costs me nothing, and has allowed me to rely on my own strength and resources. Teach me what it means to deny myself – to choose to not have everything that I want, or the way that I want it – to take up my cross and follow You! Teach me the way of faithful dependence on You. (Consider ways that you have leaned on your own understanding and not acknowledged God in your life, and repent…) (Proverbs 3:5-6)
May any thought of my own comfort or reputation be consumed by a sacrificial faith that is not mindful of cost or convenience. Guard my heart, I pray, from the love of the world and the things of the world, for You have said that it amounts to nothing, even if I were to gain all that the world has to offer and yet lose my soul. May it be pressed on my heart every moment of all my days that the world and its desires will pass away, but the one who does Your will lives forever. May these become more than just words to me, but The Word–etched on my heart – changing the way that I live and love, increasing my faith in You alone. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Monday
Father, I know that You have called us as Your people to totally embrace life in accordance with Your Word. I ask that as Your people we will enter into a radical and continual renewing of our minds, that our living might be transformed and we might be able to clearly discern Your will (John 14:15; Romans 12:1-2).
I ask, Father, that cultural preferences be set aside, and that we will be increasingly unified under the ‘culture of Christ.’ Make us one, Lord (John 17).

Tuesday
Lord Jesus, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be poured out on us in even greater measure, that there would be no lack in the ministries of ECB. May all who serve do so with great joy, using what we have received from You to serve others (1 Peter 4:10).
Lord Jesus, may our love for one another at ECB be sincere. Keep us from being superficial and uncaring, but teach us by Your Spirit to be devoted to one another in brotherly love and to truly honour one another
(Romans 12:9-10).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
As you pray, personalize this prayer and make it your own…
O God, You who holds all things together, and the nations in Your hand; You who in Your sovereignty has placed me here, in Bangkok, at this time in history; whose plans and ways are perfect – I submit to You. Your will is that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance, and in accordance with Your will, I ask that this would be so among us. May we, the church called ECB, grow through new converts. May the Gospel be presented to the lost among us with power, the Holy Spirit and deep conviction, not only through words, but by our very lives. Teach us to make the most of every opportunity, that we might constantly spread everywhere the fragrance of Christ. And allow us I pray, allow me, to be part of end-time harvest, that Jesus, the Lamb, might receive the reward for His suffering. I ask all of this in His mighty name. Amen. (Colossians 1:17; Isaiah 46:11; James 4:7; 2 Peter 3:9; Acts 2:47; 1 Thessalonians 1:5; Colossians 4:5; 2 Corinthians 2:15)
I ask that each of us in the ECB faith community, become a ‘house of prayer for all nations’. (Mark 11:17)
Lord Jesus, I ask that You raise up from among us, those to minister to our children and youth, lead cell groups, practice hospitality. Raise up musicians, worship leaders, technicians and teachers. May there be no lack among us! Release the gifts of the Spirit in even greater measure I pray.

Thursday
May we be increasingly aware of the cunning schemes of the evil one. May we be wise and aware every time we turn on our computers or TVs and as we walk the streets of Bangkok. May we truly hate all that is evil and run to, cling to, everything that is good! May our eyes be fixed on Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:11; 11:3; Hebrews 12:2; Romans 12:17)!
May we, from youngest to oldest become those who do not just hear the Word, but be those who do what it says (James 1:22).
Father, I lift up our pastors to You (René Dekker, Kevin Moua, Steve Odera, Pablo Morales) and I pray that their zeal for You will increase. Accomplish in them and through them, all that You have called them to do. May they not lean on their own understanding, but increasingly acknowledge You in all their ways. Make their path straight before them, I pray (Romans 12:11; I Thessalonians 5:24; Proverbs 3:5-6).

Friday
Father, I ask that as a community of faith, we will be found worthy of Your calling on our lives and empowered to fulfil every good purpose and every act prompted by faith. May this be accomplished among us so that the Lord Jesus may be glorified in us (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).
Pray that those presenting the Gospel through the ministries of ECB and in the nation of Thailand, would do so fearlessly, and be given the words to speak by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 6:19). Ask God for spiritual harvest.

Saturday
As we gather as Your people each Sunday, may the walls of ECB resound with the praise of Your great name! May strongholds of unbelief and doubt be broken, and may there be salvation in Your house! Lead those who are searching, to salvation through Jesus.
As we gather this Sunday, be the wall of fire around us and the glory within us I pray. May glorious praise, thanksgiving and worship be unleashed among us, and Your name and Your word exalted (Zechariah 2:5;
Psalm 138:2).
Anoint our Pastor, and give Your Church ears to hear what You would say to us through the preaching of Your Word (Revelation 2:29).
Prepare my heart today, Holy Spirit, for all that You have for me as I worship with Your people tomorrow. Change me and make me more like Jesus.
… I commit all these things to You Father, for You alone can accomplish what man cannot do. You alone are able, and I put my hope in Your great name.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
