Prayer Guide 26 February 2023

Sunday

Quiet your heart before the Father. Ask for the Holy Spirit to give you a fresh revelation of the magnitude of the finished work of Jesus on the cross, for you…

Father, how I thank You for the way that has been made for me to have relationship with You through the sacrifice of Jesus. Thank You, for demonstrating Your great love for me by sending Christ to die for me, at just the right time, while I was powerless and still in my sin. And now, having been justified through my faith in Him, I have peace with You, Hallelujah! (Pause and worship the Lord!)

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for I remember when I was separated from You, without hope and without God… (Pause and remember what life was like before you knew Jesus – give thanks for His salvation) But now, Lord Jesus, because of Your great sacrifice, I have been brought into relationship with Father God. You are my peace, for You are the One who has destroyed the barrier, the wall that was between me and the Father!

Forgive me Lord, for the times that I live as if Your sacrifice was not enough and I try to prove and purify myself by good works. Remind me by the Holy Spirit, that it is You that has made peace with God for me through Your blood shed on the cross. I thank You for the peace that You have given me, not like the world tries to give, but true peace with God the Father. Empower me and strengthen me by Your Holy Spirit, that I might not let my heart be troubled or fearful. Let me be captivated by the truth that I have been brought near to You and there is no longer any sin-debt held against me!

May the reality of these truths capture my heart once again, Lord. May my living be transformed, my relationships rejuvenated, my praise and worship – unending! Rid my life of fear and hesitancy and let me instead be increasingly confident to enter into Gospel living with others.

I praise You, Lord Jesus, for You are the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world – Who has taken away my sin! Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Jesus! I praise Your Holy Name and choose to walk this day, under the banner of Your forgiveness and acceptance.

Monday

Father, may we as Your people, be those who are willing to go out into ‘deeper water’ with You. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask for myself Lord, keep us from standing on the shore and passively listening and watching. May we enter into the life of the Holy Spirit and the work of Your Kingdom (Luke 5:1-11)!

Father, I ask that we would be conformed to the image of Christ. May we be increasingly counter-cultural in the way that we live and unified under the ‘culture of Christ’ (Romans 12:1-2)!

Tuesday

Lord Jesus, our times are filled with such evil. May we, as Your people, be careful in the way that we live and wise in all that we do. Help us to make the most of every opportunity for the purposes of Your kingdom.

(Ephesians 5:15-16) (Pray for those at ECB that you know by name, that they will be protected from the evil one.)

May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal. Increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25).

Pour out Your Holy Spirit on our pastors, Lord, that they might minister among us with great power and wisdom.

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, as I join with my brothers and sisters in fasting today, I ask that You increase our hunger and thirst for righteousness, for holiness. May we long for You more than our next meal or earthly pleasure. Strengthen us to press in deeper in prayer, that we might become those who tear down strongholds and everything that sets itself up against the knowledge of Christ Jesus (Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5)!

Grow us in prayer, Lord, as we gather for House of Prayer this evening.  Teach us to pray!

Father, I pray for those among our community of faith who are experiencing trials of many kinds. Strengthen them, I pray, to persevere and stand firm. As they wait on You Lord, give them I pray, signs of Your goodness to encourage them. Provide for the needs of Your people O God, and strengthen us as we wait on You (Pray for those at ECB who are going through difficult trials).

Strengthen us by Your Spirit, to throw off everything that is hindering us – every sin that is entangling us. May our eyes be fixed on You Lord Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Anoint and strengthen our pastors that they might serve with joy and great encouragement by the Holy Spirit.

Thursday

You have said, Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!

Father God, reveal to each of us the reason that You have us here in the nation of Thailand, the city of Bangkok, at this time. Captivate us again with Your calling on our lives, that we might truly live as people of a heavenly kingdom. May the light of Jesus shine through us, crossing cultural and language barriers. Use us as Your people, I pray, to bring the Gospel of Jesus to this nation!

Remove doubt and unbelief among us and replace it with holy boldness. Confirm Your Word among us with signs and wonders, that You Lord Jesus might be exalted and the unbelieving come to know You and our own faith increase (Acts 4:29-30)!

Friday

Father, may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger. (Ephesians 4:26; 4:2) Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility. May we be a people who forgive others, as You Lord, have forgiven us, and extend grace to one another freely (Matthew 10:18).  May the unity of the Spirit increase among us.

Father, may we like Mary, learn to sit at Your feet and not worry about the many things in our lives that press in around us. May we be strengthened to choose the ‘better way’ of intimate fellowship with You (Luke 10:41-42). Draw us by Your Spirit.

Build ECB into a ‘house of prayer for all nations’, Lord! May prayer truly become the ‘fuel’ of every ministry. Teach us to pray.

Saturday

May our times of personal and corporate worship be infused with fresh Spirit-life, I pray. May we worship You in spirit and in truth and give You the glory due Your name (John 4:23-24).

Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart I pray! Make our hearts ready for the seed of Your Word – Father, make me hungry for Your Word! May each of us come before You tomorrow with songs of thanksgiving and joy! Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather and change us into a people that is conformed to the image of Jesus!

O God, pour out Your Holy Spirit on us! Renew us! Revive us! Change Us!
