Prayer Guide 07 May 2023
Sunday
Father, You are so merciful. Thank You, that You are not willing that anyone should perish without You, but that You long for all to come to You through salvation in Christ Jesus. Give me this longing for those who are lost, without hope and without You – those who I can see, as well as for those without Christ in the far corners of the globe. I know that You are reconciling the world to Yourself in Christ, and that You have committed to me the message of the Gospel. Make me to be a faithful ambassador of Christ I pray, living out the ministry of reconciliation in my daily living (Pause and ask for the empowering of the Holy Spirit…).
Father, even as I pray I am so aware of my inadequacies, my short-comings, my sin and weakness that it hardly seems possible that You could use me. And yet, You promise that Your power is made perfect in my weakness, and so I confess to You my timidity, my laziness and apathy, (my… pause in personal prayer…). In faith, I ask that You would give me the words to say, that whenever I open my mouth I might somehow make known the mystery of the Gospel. May Jesus be seen in me in all that I do and in all that I say. I ask that a holy urgency be birthed in me, a fresh realization that Jesus is coming soon!
Right now I lift up to You by name, those who You have placed in my life who do not yet know You–
my co-workers…
my classmates…
my neighbours and those I do business with…
my friends and loved ones….
As one who has been sent by You, use me, O God, to be the aroma of Jesus to them. I ask You for divine appointments and opportunities to bless them and minister Your love, that Jesus might be seen in me. Help me to look past annoyances and minister to them as Jesus would.
By Your Spirit, open the eyes of their hearts, I pray, that they might turn from darkness to light. May their minds be opened, so that they may see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ and come to salvation. I ask this all in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.

Monday
Father, I ask that the ECB community of faith become increasingly generous in the way that we sow into your work. Forgive us for thinking that what we have to offer is too small, or not enough. Take our gifts, talents, time and money and multiply it over and over to feed many (2 Corinthians 9:6; John 6:1-15).
Father, may we be strong in You and in Your mighty power, and not put confidence in our own strength. May each of us daily wear the full armour that You have provided – may we ‘put on’ Jesus! Remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood and strengthen us to stand firm. Teach us to pray continually (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Tuesday
I pray that no unwholesome talk would be heard among us, but only what is helpful for building each other up. May all bitterness, rage and anger, gossip, slander and every form of malice be put to death among us and kindness and compassion released in our faith community in increasing measure. May our relationships be marked by forgiveness (Ephesians 4:29-32).
Continually remind us, Father, that sharing with others is a pleasing sacrifice to You. May we be outwardly focused, so we don’t become self-absorbed (Hebrews 13:16; Philippians 2:4; Jude 22-23).
Increase our faith, Father! May we as Your people be increasingly sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1, 6).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
As a community of faith, may we increasingly be those who bless with our mouths, who seek and pursue peace with one another. May we love as brothers and be compassionate and humble towards one another (1 Peter 3:8).
For those among us who are experiencing trials of all kinds, I ask that You strengthen us by the Holy Spirit to be strong and courageous. May fear and discouragement disappear and a fresh realization of Your nearness in the midst of our adversities, overwhelm us (Joshua 1:9)!
I ask in Jesus’ mighty name, that You bring the hidden things in our lives to light, Father. Purify us and make us holy (Job 28:11).
I lift up those among us who are struggling with doubt, unbelief or depression and have lost their confidence in You Lord Jesus. Ask that You would keep the light of the Holy Spirit burning in their hearts – turn their darkness into light I pray (Psalm 18:28) (Pray for those you know, by name…)!

Thursday
You have said, Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!
Father, Your Word says that You have not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but power, love and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). I ask in Jesus’ mighty name that fear be crushed and put to death in the lives of my brothers and sisters at ECB. Replace timidity with holy boldness, I pray.
Father, may the light of Your face shine upon us – surround us with Your favour, as a shield (Psalm 4:6; 5:12)!

Friday
Father, I ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You, by Your Spirit, unify and strengthen my Thai brothers and sisters in this land to be salt and light. Pour out Your Spirit on Your Church here, I pray. Revive the hearts of Thai pastors – may Your Word go forth with power! May Your Church in this city rise up as one voice, proclaiming Your greatness and glory, that righteousness might flow through the streets and Jesus be exalted. I pray in His name. Amen.
Father, may we as Your people always acknowledge and take to heart that You are God in heaven above and on the earth below – that there is no other. Help us to acknowledge You in all that we do (Deuteronomy 4:39; Proverbs 3:5-6).
Forgive us, Father, for the ways that we follow You half-heartedly. May we become those who love You with all of our hearts, all of our souls and strength (Deuteronomy 6:4).

Saturday
Father, I ask that You build this house called ECB – we do not want to labour in vain! In Your good pleasure, make ECB prosper. May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).
Help us, as Your people, to learn to walk humbly with You (Micah 6:8).
Give us the gift of repentance that leads to salvation and to life ( 2 Corinthians 7:19; Acts 11:18).
Fill us with fresh passion for You and a hunger for holiness, that we would become those who seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness.
Reveal to us, I pray, the things that keep us from truly drawing near to You (Psalm 119:2; Matthew 6:33).
Release our hearts to worship You in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).
