Prayer Guide 21 May 2023
Sunday
I praise You O Lord, with all of my heart, from the depths of my heart – I am grateful to You beyond the ability of mere words to express. Over and over again You have poured great blessing into my life – thank You, Father!
You have forgiven my sins, and they are many. Thank You Jesus.
You have healed my body, soul and spirit, more times than I can recount and restored and refreshed me by the Holy Spirit. Thank You Lord.
You have satisfied my desires and renewed my strength (Pause and continue to give thanks).
You are compassionate Father, and gracious, slow to anger and Your love for me is overwhelming! Thank You for not treating me as my sin deserves, or paying me back for what I have done. Instead, Your love for me is as high as the heavens are above the earth, and in Jesus Christ You have removed my sin from me as far as the east is from the west. Thank You for Your fatherly compassion and great love for me!
I praise You, Lord, for You have established Your throne in heaven and Your Kingdom rules over all – the nations and situations around the world, the desperate needs all around me, the trials and heartaches I’m experiencing, You reign over it all! This day I invite you to rule and reign over:
My thought-life, actions and reactions and I submit to Your Holy Spirit.
All the relationships connected to my life - may they honour You and my life bless many.
The things and situations that worry and weigh me down… I bring them before You Lord.
You are King over all! Rule over my life – reign over me, I pray! This day I join with all the angels who do Your bidding and obey Your word, and I praise You. With all of the heavenly hosts, Your servants who do Your will – I join them in praising Your name. With all of Your works everywhere under Your dominion, I too will not be silent, but proclaim Your greatness, and goodness! Praise the Lord O my soul! Praise the Lord! Praise the LORD!

Psalm 103
Monday
Father, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be released on us in greater measure, that there would be no lack in any area of ministry among us (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27).
Father, may the children and students of our fellowship grow strong in You and in Your mighty power. Protect them from the evil one (Ephesians 6:10; John 17:15 ) (Pray for those you know by name).
Where there is depression or despair, discouragement or doubt among us, may it be dispelled in Jesus’ name, and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit be poured out on our community of faith (Romans 15:13).

Tuesday
(Consider praying this prayer out loud as you look out a window of your home, school or place of work.)
Father, I declare Your Word over the city of Bangkok, that the earth is Yours, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it belong to You (Psalm 24:1)! Thailand belongs to You, Father! Bangkok is Yours, Father! And Thai people are Your inheritance! This day, I pray that Your name will be exalted in this nation. Pour out Your Holy Spirit and reveal Yourself to the hearts of the people of this country through dreams and visions, and through Your Church. Use us, I pray, use me, as a conduit of Your great love and compassion. May the love of Jesus be evident in my every word, in my countenance and actions. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit, I pray, and empower me to be salt and light in the midst of darkness. Lord Jesus, may You be exalted in this land! May You be glorified in this nation! For You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God – there is no other God besides You, and I ask these things in Your Mighty name. Amen.

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
Father, I ask in Jesus’ name, that You give us fresh understanding of the authority that we have because of the blood of the Lord Jesus and His finished work on the cross. May we as Your people walk as ‘more than conquerors’ (Romans 8:37; Ephesians 6:10; Romans 12:21; 1 John 5:4; 2 Corinthians 6:7).
It is written that we should not “love the world or the things of the world’. Help us Lord! Increase our love for You, that everything else might diminish and Christ Jesus, increase (1 John 2:15)!
Help us to have mercy on those in our community of faith who are doubting and being tempted to turn back. May we increasingly encourage each other to press on in our pilgrimage with You. Strengthen them to stand firm (Jude 22)!
Father, may ECB increasingly become a place where it is safe to confess our sin to another. Teach us to walk alongside one another and encourage each other in our pilgrimage towards greater Christ-likeness (James 5:16).

Thursday
Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who are still struggling under a load of guilt and shame. May they hear Your voice in their hearts this day reminding them that there is no longer any condemnation. Silence the lies of the enemy in their lives and strengthen them to stand firm and be victorious, I pray (Romans 8:1; Psalm 103:12)!
Heavenly Father, empower us by the Holy Spirit to walk in the light and be imitators of Christ (Colossians 2:13; 1 John 2:6; Ephesians 5:1).
Father, teach us to pray at ECB, to really enter into a deeper longing for you – greater faith, greater fervency. Make us to be a true house of prayer (Mark 11:17).

Friday
Pray that as God’s people, we will more and more become students of the Word – that the Word would dwell in us richly and truly be the standard by which we live and conduct ourselves, that Jesus would be seen in us with power.
Father, I lift up our elders and pastors to You and I ask that as they lead us, they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven”. Lead them by Your Holy Spirit (James 3:17).
Ask God to reveal to us in what ways we come near to Him with our lips (what we say or sing in His presence), but keep our hearts far from Him (Isaiah 29:13; Matthew 15:8) (Sit quietly and allow the Holy Spirit to show you these things in your own life as well…)

Saturday
Thank You, Father, that You are renewing us and changing us, that You are visiting us by Your Spirit and teaching us to be true worshippers. But Father, I ask for more! O God, pour out Your Holy Spirit on us in greater and greater measure I pray! Help us, Your people, to eagerly enter Your presence, to praise Your name without hesitation. O Father, we want more of You – we are desperate for You! Fill the ECB sanctuary with Your presence, I pray! Make us to be the kind of worshippers that You are seeking, those who worship You in spirit and in truth! Father, I ask that the Evangelical Church of Bangkok become a house of prayer. Teach us to pray by Your Spirit. Help us to love what You love. Teach us what it means to weep for our Jerusalem! Teach us what it means to ‘travail’ in prayer! Teach me, O God! May Your Spirit go before us. Be the “wall of fire around us and the glory within”. I ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that You rebuke the enemy and foil all His schemes in regard to our services tomorrow. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, I cancel all assignments and curses that may have come against us. Thank You, that we are more than conquerors because of Jesus who loved us and gave Himself for us by the shedding of His blood. Pour out Your Spirit on us! Keep changing us O God until we are conformed to the likeness of Jesus! I pray in His mighty name. Amen.
