Prayer Guide 28 May 2023

Sunday

Before you begin, be still and know that He is God… (Psalm 46:10)

Father, Your Word says that I am an overcomer because of the blood of the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the word of my testimony – that in Jesus, all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form and I have been given fullness in Christ and share in His authority over every spiritual power and authority (Pause and meditate on these truths)!

But I confess that I often do not feel like an overcomer and I often give in to the influence of this world instead of submitting to Christ. O God, save me from myself! May I be full of Your Spirit and Your mighty power – the power of the resurrection!

Teach me and use me, that I might be one who sees strongholds demolished in my life and in the lives of others. Thank You Father, that because I belong to You in Christ Jesus, You surround me with Your presence – that You are a wall of fire around me. You, O Lord, are my refuge and my strength. In every situation and struggle, You are with me. I will not be afraid for my trust is in Your name.

Like Joshua, may I be confident that You are with me and will never leave or forsake me. By Your Spirit at work in me, make me to be strong and courageous, to not be afraid or discouraged, but always mindful that You are with me wherever I go. Use me to take back ground that the enemy has stolen.

Strengthen me this day, I ask, to be self-controlled and alert, knowing that the enemy of my soul is prowling, looking for an opportune moment. In Jesus’ name, I choose to submit to You, resist him, and stand firm in my faith! Give me, I pray, Your perspective of the situations I face. May I live victoriously as a conqueror, because of Jesus and His love for me. May I be full of faith and Your Word, for I belong to You, Lord Jesus, the Son of God, and You have overcome the world! In Your Mighty Name. Amen

Monday

Pray that as the people of God, we will become those who are truly strong in  Him and His mighty power. Pray that we will overcome the evil of the world with good – with weapons of righteousness! Pray that we will learn to walk in the authority provided us through the blood of our Lord Jesus (Romans 8:35; Ephesians 6:10; Romans 12:21; 1 John 5:4; 2 Corinthians 6:7)!

Father, for those among us who are unsure of the next step they should take, whether it is job related, or financial or relational – I ask that You instruct and teach my brothers and sisters in the way that they should go. Counsel and watch over them in the midst of uncertainty (Psalm 32:8) (Pray for those you know, by name…).

Tuesday

Bless us with the gift of brokenness and repentance before You.

Regardless of difficulties and trials, I ask, Father, that You strengthen us so that we will not fear. Instead, may our confidence in You and who You are, increase and be evident in the way we live out our faith in front of those who do not yet know You (Psalm 27:3) (Pause and pray for those you know, by name, who are going through difficulties…).

Lord Jesus, I ask that You raise up from among us, those to minister to our children and youth, lead LIFE groups and practice hospitality. Raise up musicians, worship leaders and teachers. May there be no lack among us! Release the gifts of the Spirit in even greater measure I pray.

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
As you pray, remember those you know by name at ECB…

Jesus, You said that we are to make disciples of all nations – show us this way! Surely You have put us here in Bangkok at this point in time for Your plans and purpose. May we, as Your people, enter in with joy to all that You have for us. Increase the harvest among us! May many come to Jesus – and yes, Lord, give us the nations (Matthew 28:19)!

I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB, those who are being tempted to turn from You and give into sin, strengthen them to stand firm! Make us to be strong in You and Your mighty power, I pray (Pray for those you know of by name who are in the midst of trials and temptations…) (1 Corinthians 10:13; Ephesians 6:10)!

Father, it is written that it is improper for Your people to engage in sexual immorality, any kind of impurity or greed, and so I ask in Jesus’ name that all deeds of darkness be crushed in our lives (Ephesians 5:3-5). May we walk in the light of Your presence!

As Your dearly loved children, Father, may we imitate You and live a life of love (Ephesians 5:1).

Thursday

May we, as Your people, turn from the philosophies and entertainment of the world and truly think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy – may this be the standard for what we allow into our minds and hearts (Philippians 4:8).

Father, I lift up our pastors to You and I pray that their zeal for You will increase. Accomplish in them and through them, all that You have called them to do. May they not lean on their own understanding, but increasingly acknowledge You in all their ways. Make their path straight before them I pray, and encourage them by Your Spirit (Romans 12:11; I Thessalonians 5:24; Proverbs 3:5-6).

Fill us with fresh passion for You and a hunger for holiness, that we would truly become those who seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. Reveal to us, I pray, the things that keep us from truly drawing near to You (Psalm 119:2; Matthew 6:33).

Friday

Regardless of difficulties and trials, I ask, Father, that You strengthen us so that we will not fear. Instead, may our confidence in You and who You are increase and be evident in the way we live out our faith in front of those who do not yet know You (Psalm 27:3) (Pause and pray for those you know, by name, who are going through difficulties…).

Father, You have promised to bestow on Your people the oil of gladness in place of the ‘ash piles’ of our lives (Isaiah 61:3).  Many of us, Lord, struggle under the memories of past hurt, abuse and loss. Heal our damaged emotions Father, restore joy and gladness to us, I pray (Pray for brothers and sisters you know by name…)!

How thankful I am for the privilege of worshiping with brothers and sisters from many lands. Thank You for this taste of heaven, Lord! May we increasingly put aside cultural preferences, I pray. Unite us under the banner and cross of Christ. May the Word of God be our one true standard!

Saturday

Knowing that the sacrifices that God loves are a broken spirit and a contrite heart (Psalm 51:17), pray that we will increasingly be those who are repentant before the Lord. Ask God to reveal the dead places and idols in our lives (in your life...) (Pause here and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal these places in your heart. Confess them to the Lord…).

Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who struggle with English and ask that as they listen to Your Word tomorrow that it will be as if they are hearing it in their own language. May Your Word go forth in power and accomplish all that You intend in every heart.

Give us ears to hear what the Spirit would say to Your Church.

Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart I pray! Make me to be a ‘doer’ of Your Word, and not just a ‘hearer’ (James 1:22)!
