Prayer Guide 16 July 2023
Sunday
Before you begin, quiet your heart and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal ways in which you have treated others unkindly, and bring these before the Lord in prayer…
Father, I know that You are kind, even to the ungrateful and wicked, and have commanded that I am to be merciful just as You are merciful, but I confess that I fall short of this in my daily living.
Forgive me Father, for my judgmental thoughts, words – even actions, for I have treated others with disregard and scepticism. Change my heart O God and make my life to be a conduit of your loving kindness and grace
(Pause and pray as the Holy Spirit leads you…).
Your Word says that the presence of kindness in my life is an evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit – O God, may it increase I pray! May I forgive others, just as in Christ Jesus You have forgiven me – and for so very much! Forgive my stinginess in dispensing Your grace. Keep me I pray from overlooking people – all whom You love.
Prompt me by Your Spirit to be kind to those who are in need and poor, for I know that this honours You and is as if I were ministering to You, Lord. Empower me Father, that my words to those closest to me as well as those I do not know, may cheer even anxious hearts. May acts of kindness so permeate my living, that others may see the light of Jesus in me and praise You (Pause and ask the Holy Spirit for ideas as to how you might show greater kindness to those around you).
Keep me I pray, from living selfishly, from serving others or being kind when it is convenient for me, but instead, may my love for You overflow and be lived out of my life through acts of kindness, compassion and generosity.
Be glorified in me this day, Lord. May words and deeds of kindness bless those I meet and talk to in such a way that I am salt and light to everyone I encounter. Father, let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me, and His kindness expressed through me. I ask this in His Name. Amen.

Monday
Lord Jesus, be exalted among us as we gather and worship, as we meet in homes, at our places of work, school and play. Be exalted, be glorified in our conversations, in the choices that we make, and the places we go. Whether we eat or drink or whatever it is that we might do. May we always be mindful that we belong to You (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups, teaching and leading Oasis, our children and students and, Adult Discipleship that they will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy and establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17)!
Father, may we like Mary, learn to sit at Your feet and not worry about the many things in our lives that press in around us. May we be strengthened to choose the ‘better way’ of intimate fellowship with You (Luke 10:41-42).

Tuesday
Holy Spirit, teach us the spiritual discipline of “taking every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ”. Make us increasingly aware of the battle that is being waged for our minds. May we stand firm (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
Father, may we enter into deeper fellowship and community through the ministry of LIFE Groups, and be unified by Your Spirit. I pray for my brothers and sisters Father and ask that they might be encouraged (Pray for those in your LIFE Group by name).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
May our lives be infused with fresh faith, holy living and confidence in You. Make us to be risk-takers for the sake of Your Kingdom (Hebrews 11:1, 6)!
I pray for our children and young people, Father, and ask You to strengthen them to stand firm in their faith and make a difference for Your Kingdom. Protect them from the evil one (John 17:15) and may they follow You all the days of their lives.
Father, may we increasingly live in harmony with one another. May we be sympathetic with one another and love as brothers and sisters – may compassion and humility increase among us. Teach us how to bless one another (1 Peter 3:8-9).
Fill us with fresh passion for You and a hunger for holiness, that we would truly become those who seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness (Psalm 119:2; Matthew 6:33).

Thursday
Father, You know the needs that are represented in our fellowship. There is relational brokenness among us Lord, spiritual dryness, unconfessed sin, physical weakness, emotional distress.
May those in our community of faith who are hard pressed on every side, be encouraged by Your Spirit to stand firm. Strengthen them, I pray (Pray for those you know of by name who are experiencing trials…).
I ask in Jesus’ mighty name, that every stronghold of addiction be broken off of us, Your people. Reveal the hidden things, Father! Purify us and make us holy (Job 28:11)!
Father, You are our healer and I come to you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who are suffering physically. May Your healing power be poured out on them I pray. Strengthen and renew them. May all sickness be gone in Jesus’ name. I pray especially for… (Pray for those you know of by name…)

Friday
May the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ be lived out in us and through us, I pray (Ephesians 1:18-20)!
Father, protect us from the love of money. May we be increasingly content with what we have knowing that You will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5-6).
Father, it is written that it is improper for Your people to engage in sexual immorality, any kind of impurity or greed, and so I ask in Jesus’ name that all deeds of darkness be crushed in our lives (Ephesians 5:3-5). May we walk in the light of Your presence!
Revive the hearts of Your people across this city I pray. Breathe the life of Your Spirit into dead places, into dry bones, that Your Church in Bangkok may rise up and be true salt and light (Ezekiel 37:4-14; Zechariah 2:5)!

Saturday
Father, strengthen and encourage our pastors who lead us. Fill them afresh with the Holy Spirit and firmly establish the work of their hands, I pray (Psalm 90:17).
Anoint our pastors, I pray – may those who lead us in worship be empowered by Your Spirit, those who come tomorrow who do not yet know You, be drawn to You, and O God, pour out Your Holy Spirit on us!
Father, prepare my heart to receive the seed of Your Word tomorrow. May Your Word go deep within me, take root and produce lasting fruit in my life. I ask this for my brothers and sisters as well, change us by Your Word!
