Prayer Guide 03 December 2023
Sunday
Thank You, Father, that Jesus became flesh and lived among us, and that His glory was revealed! Father, thank You for sending Jesus, Your own Son, in the likeness of sinful man, to be a sin offering for me, providing the way for me to become Your child. Jesus the Messiah is born!
You alone, Lord Jesus are Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. It is in You, Lord Jesus, that all the fullness of God dwells, and through You alone that I have been reconciled to God because of Your shed blood on the cross! I confess, Lord Jesus, that You alone are the way to God the Father, You alone are the truth and the life. No longer am I alienated from God, but instead, because of Your sacrifice for me, I am now presented as holy in the Father’s sight! Empower me by Your Spirit, to convey this Gospel message to those around me. May the light of Jesus so shine from my life to others that they will turn and glorify You Father.
Forgive me, I pray for the ways that I have allowed the light of Christ in me, to be diminished.
Fill me with Your compassion for those around me, and help me to love like You love.
Destroy complacency and the desire for comfort in me.
Change me, that I might be willing to be inconvenienced for the sake of others and the Gospel.
Open my eyes to the needs of those around me, and may I be one who invests in what is eternal.
By Your Spirit, may I always be prepared to give the reason for the hope that I have. You, Lord Jesus are my hope. May the Gospel be lived out through me.
As I enter this season and celebrate Your coming Lord Jesus – the first Advent, I pray that the wonder of Your coming to earth would capture my heart once again. Fill me with child-like awe and inexpressible joy. The Messiah is come! And I pray in Your name. Amen.

Monday
Father, as we enter into this Advent season and celebrate the birth of Jesus, I ask that His glory be revealed in the nations of the world. You, who so loved the world that You gave Your only Son – have mercy, I pray. Pour out Your Spirit and draw the hearts of men and women to Yourself. As Your Church around the world prepares for Advent celebrations and outreach events, may there be a great harvest of souls! May the Gospel message go forth with power and the name of Jesus be exalted – for He is the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to You except through Him. I pray in His mighty name. Amen.
Father, may, ‘Christ in us the hope of glory’ be lived out through us and the light of Jesus be seen in us with increasing clarity in our relationships with others (Colossians 1:27).

Tuesday
Lord Jesus, we are Your people, we belong to You. May our sinful natures with their passions and desires, be crucified and may we increasingly live by and keep in step with the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:24-25)
Show us, Lord, where we are still conforming to the patterns of this world and refine us by Your Spirit. Transform and renew our minds (Romans 12:2)!
Father, I pray that Your power would be at work within us, so that Christ Jesus might be glorified at ECB, that You might accomplish more than we can ask or imagine in our generation and the generation to come (Ephesians 3:20-21).

Wednesday
Prayer and Fasting Focus
May we put on the helmet of salvation and declare that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved from our sin! You, Lord Jesus, are the Christ the Son of the Living God! Jesus, You are our salvation! Father, may we Your people, be overwhelmed with the joy of the salvation that we have in You (Ephesians 6:17; Acts 4:12; Matthew 16:16; Psalm 51:12)!
May harvest come in, and souls come to know Jesus! Father I pray for pre-Christian friends, co-workers, family members, who are connected to the ECB community of faith – Lord Jesus, may their longing to know You increase (Pray for the pre-Christian people who are connected to the ECB faith community. Pray that their spiritual eyes will be open!) (1 Peter 3:15; Ephesians 1:17).
Father, may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger (Ephesians 4:26; 4:2). Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility.

Thursday
Father, I ask in Jesus’ name, that the Holy Spirit will be poured out on the many Christmas outreach events that will be taking place around the world. May the harvest be great! Prepare the hearts of all who will attend, and strengthen all who will serve, preach and give. May Your Church truly shine as the light and love of Jesus.
Pray for those from our fellowship who will be visiting their home countries during this Christmas Season, that they will be the aroma of Christ. Ask God to empower them, by His Spirit, to be salt and light.
Pray for those who are new to our community of faith that they will quickly feel at home and be strengthened in their walk with Jesus as they are with us.
Ask God to open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessing on Christian organizations ministering in the nation of Thailand. Pray that regardless of the economy, they will grow and prosper.

Friday
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ worldwide, who are facing persecution for their faith. Ask God to strengthen them by His Spirit. Pray that the Church of Jesus will grow and expand in spite of those who come against it.
I lift up to You, Father, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who are feeling ‘hard pressed on every side’ – may they not be crushed by the trials they face. May they be filled with confidence by Your Spirit that their momentary troubles are achieving an eternal glory for them that will outweigh the difficulties they face (2 Corinthians 4:8, 17)!
Father, make us to be fearless followers of Jesus – more than conquerors because of His love for us (Romans 8:37)!

Saturday
Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray! May each of us come before you with songs of thanksgiving and joy – open our lips that we might declare Your praise – may our hearts be unleashed!
Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather, change us and wash us by Your Word! Keep us from just listening to Your Word, may we be those who do what it says (Psalm 51:15; Ephesians 5:26; James 1:22)!
Strengthen and empower our pastors with a fresh anointing of Your Spirit.
Father I ask that You build the house called ECB – we do not want to labour in vain! In Your good pleasure, make ECB prosper, may the ministries of our fellowship multiply and increase (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17)!
